Make sure you take out a legal expenses insurance policy that starts either the day or prior to moving in. It's an add on to your home insurance.
If you have a legal right to a parking space in your deeds and that space is being blocked, you will have a claim of legal nuisance against the offender.
Easy to pursue if it's the same party each time. Not so much if it's different people each time.0 -
The deeds show the house and two allocated spaces in the parking area 5 mins away.
The unallocated six are in a 'bay' across from the three houses in a cul de sac. so no one really needs to be parking in the road unless they are visiting or being at home.
So?
They'll continue parking there as they always have done.
It's going to be an ongoing thing. If walking 5 mins bothers you, look for somewhere else. You're not going to change their behaviour tomorrow, next month or next year.0 -
I think the worst thing you could do would be to start a passive aggressive war using notes on the windscreen etc. Human interaction helps a great deal.
The reality is that you have no right to stop them using the unallocated spaces if they want to. They may just see all these spaces as fair game - 1st come 1st served.
Could buy a bike?

I would expect it to be first come first served! The spaces are 'unallocated' for everybody, us included. So if we miss out, we miss out.Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0

5 min walk that's 400mtr what sort of estate is it that has parking that far from properties.
what sort of houses are these, if multi bed family homes with no on property parking it will become a nightmare as places go to 3+ cars when kids mature.
have you been round at different times, evening, weekend etc, check google maps.
There is a older cul de sac near us that is very spacious, all 4 bed detached with front gardens, 2 car drives, garage and the road is still full of cars0 -
They have been very fortunate to have the use of all 6 bays, but if they are reasonable people then they will realise that the new owners may also want to use them.
I don't see that this has to escalate into anything, I think the vast majority of people would accept that they no longer have exclusive use and the spaces will become first come first served.0 -

If being able to park near your home is important to you, don't buy this without realising this is going to be a constant headache.
I rejected many many properties on the basis of lack of parking and for me it was the right thing to do. I would have be constantly wound up in the scenario you're in, I would not buy.0
