Contract up 16th August. Advice

Hi All,

My contract with plusnet comes than end on 16th August. I think I'm going to go for fibre this time. Unfortunately can't get the SSE deal so will probably swap back to talktalk! Thing is I recall last time I swapped that my provider at the time tried to charge me an early termination fee even though I was only a few days from my landline contract ending. They wiped it for me on request but I don't want that to happen again. Neither do I want to pay a hefty amount to plusnet as once my contract ends (free bb) I have to pay much bigger amount once the initial 12 months is up. So my question is when should I agree my new contract with whoever (probably talktalk) so that I ensure that the change of contract takes place on the 16th August?

I'm sure it's not this complicated with mobile contracts as you can leave in the last month-you just have to pay them until the end of that month!

Thanks!

I think you had a luck escape wth sse.

You do pay for the month in advance but you so be refunded for the days not used.
  • Try Origin Broadband. 100% UK based. Very good line rental packages if you want them. Choice of free standard 16mb broadband. Or very good fibre packages. I pay 18.49 for 76 mb fibre and get 65 mb or more all the time. Never had a dropout. Customer service is 2 ND to none, 100% UK based. Been with sky, bt and talk talk would never go back to any of them.

If changeover is after your minimum term ends , a few days at full price won't cost a fortune.
