Had a quiet morning yesterday, and after picking ds up from school took him into town to pick up some new school trousers for him (he's only been in school half a term and they're already too short!!). Went into Wilko and bought a load of Halloween things for 75% off. Spent just under £8 and had 3 outfits as well as a load of decorations. I had no idea what size to buy baby as ds1 was a big baby and always in a size ahead. I ended up buying 12-18 months. I figured it was better to be too big than too small!

We've all got the dentist this morning. Mine should be free, as should ds's. Had a food delivery last night and it included all the last bits and bobs I need for the hospital bag. I also had a few Christmas bits included.

Right, I need to jump in the shower.

Dentist was a success......especially for ds as it was his first time! He was a little star! Only had to pay for dh, so the whole cost was £13.50 for 6months instead of around £27 per month. :j Good saving!

Worked with ds on his Christmas cards after he finished school, and then sorted through his wardrobe as his 2-3 trousers are all of a sudden too short. Bagged the, up and they've gone up the attic. We had a few pairs of 3-4 jeans that I got from the next sale last year, but needed a few more so I ordered a few pairs (as well as joggers and other trousers) from Matalan. I had a discount code so it ended up costing £28.

I finished packing the hospital bag and sorted out baby's room. It's starting to look tidy here again! Dh brought all the kiddies Christmas gifts out from under the bed ready for me to wrap, and there is one niece who doesn't have enough, so I've ordered one more gift which will be delivered to Tesco by the end of the week.

Today I'm taking ds to soft play this morning. It's definitely £2 well spent! After school we will try to finish his Christmas cards and then we may start wrapping Christmas present for his cousins and friends.

We need to have another sort through ds's toys before Christmas so I may attack them this weekend. Im sure he only plays with a fraction of his toys, and we'll need space for the Christmas tree and then for new toys (and baby bits).

Right, one more episode of Peppa Pig and then time for breakfast!

Ds had fun at soft play this morning. I definitely do need to be keeping busy now because as soon as I sit down, I completely crash. It doesn't help that I've had a headache for most of the day. Need to keep an eye on it, especially as blood pressure was creeping up at my last appointment. I had a little snooze whilst he was at school and then after picking him up we did more of his Christmas cards (almost finished) and wrapped Christmas and birthday gifts for nieces, nephews, friends' children, etc. I am definitely seeing the light at the end of this Christmas wrapping tunnel!!

I need to remember to post a card tomorrow. I should have done it today, but tomorrow will be ok (ha......don't have much choice!!).

I've washed the washing machine this evening so I now stink of bleach! I've put it on a high temp wash, it's probably still got hours left!

  • Hi MrsS!

You've been a busy bee, don't tire yourself out too much, make sure you rest.

Well done on the wrapping, I dread it.

Bleurgh to cleaning the washer, bet it smells better now though xx

MrsS you make me look like a right slacker! Cleaning the washer is definitely on my list but so low down I can barely see it. Well done on being so organised for Christmas too

I must admit cleaning the washing machine was a very quick job with regards to what I had to do! I basically threw the bleach in, scrubbed the drawer a little and then put it on a hot wash for hours!!

I am much better if I keep busy at the moment. As soon as I stop I feel exhausted, which is no good with a 3 year old running around the place. I generally crash in the evenings and do nothing after ds is in bed.

This morning, ds and I went into town to pick up the birthday cards we need for November and December (and posted the one that should have gone yesterday!). I also picked up gift tags, bottle bags and Christmas and birthday wrapping paper. After getting home I wrapped the rest of the gifts, whilst ds watched on/watched Thomas the Tank. I've only got the kiddies stocking fillers, dh's gifts and the few I've yet to buy left to wrap now. The few bits left to buy are just basically gift vouchers, gift cards, nice choccies and beer. I've added some choccies and beer to my next food delivery, so will be just the gift vouchers/cards left. Yay!! :j Oh, I also wrapped all birthday gifts left for this year. This baby better not be late now.......I'll be fed up waiting as I'll have done everything :rotfl:

Weekend is here. Other than going to watch a firework display tomorrow night, I have no idea what we're going to do. I was thinking about going to a baby fayre, but figured that I don't actually need anything else so would end up spending for the sake of it. Will probably end up having a quiet weekend.

Ended up having one of the best night's sleep in a long time last night! Felt refreshed for the first couple of hours, but crashing now :rotfl: We have had a big cooked breakfast though! I'm now home alone for the next 5-6 hours as Dh has taken ds out. They enjoy their men only time, and I do enjoy the 'doing nothing at all' time. I may wrap some more gifts later, though.

After typing that yesterday, I then slept until lunch time! We went to see a firework display last night, which ds really enjoyed.

This morning I went into town to do a little more Christmas shopping. Dh and I usuallybuy each other stocking fillers as well as a main gift every year. This year we've challenged each other to see what stocking filler we can get. with a £5 budget. I have now spent around £4.70 and have quite a few bits for him. I love bargain hunting.

I've wrapped the kiddies stocking fillers today. I've now got dh's gifts left to wrap and just a handful of other bits.

I need to update today's spends on ynab and then finances will be all up to date.

Work today. 10 more days until maternity leave starts! Roll on next Wednesday!

I didn't update ynab last night (ended up in bed before 9). I'll have to do it tonight to make sure everything is up to date.
