A pound stretching maternity

Hope your next appointments show some improvement MrsS. Good job you've got your bag all packed.
Making Christmas cards sounds like fun, might dig out some stuff from my craft stash for my ds to make a few. He did cards for daddy and Nana's birthdays this week and they were chuffed

What a busy day!
Took ds out for the morning. We picked up the things we needed to make the Christmas cards that had run out, I bought some stamps (that nearly bankrupted me!!) and posted a card (I actually found a spare card in the card box here that was perfect so no need to buy another card!), we had a drink and shared a cake in Tesco caf!, we went to the park and the headed over to Farmfoods for a walk around. Picked up Christmas Pringles from there at 99p each as well as a couple of other frozen bits (strangely enough!).
Got back and it was time for lunch. Spent this afternoon making the dump meals (8 made today!) and then starting on the Christmas cards with ds. We did more than I expected of the cards, which I'm really chuffed about! Was just putting the crafts bits away when dh walked through the door.
An easy dinner of freezer junk this evening (ds's favourite!) before an evening in front of the tv with plenty of braxton hicks.
The laundry hasn't been touched, but it will still be there tomorrow!
Dh and ds are going out for the day tomorrow with dh's dad car hunting, so I'll have a quiet day at home. I may wrap a few more gifts, so that I'll at least have finished the children's ones. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Saturday again. Dh and ds are just having their breakfast and then heading out. I have asked them to pick up a couple of bits so won't be a nsd. I'm finding the evenings getting colder, and all my maternity pjs are tshirts and cropped trouser styles. I had a look at maternity pjs online last night, and it's impossible to get warm ones (apparently you're supposed to be extra hot when you're pregnant - I didn't get the memo!). So, I'm just going to be some massive non maternity ones, which will hopefully fit over the belly. Instead of paying delivery dh offered to call into matalan today to pick up a pair for me. The ones I've seen online are £10.
Also need one birthday gift, so dh and ds will pick that up as well. It's only £4 (part of a bigger gift) and easy to find so they should manage that!
I'm still determined to do more wrapping today, and I'd better do some laundry, but other than that I think a quiet day is on the cards. I'll sort next week's meal plan at some point as well.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Morning Mrs!
You had a busy day yesterday, you accomplished more than I could
Hope that the braxton hicks aren't causing you too much hassle?
I was permanently cold when I was pregnant with DS, so totally sympathise there, love new pj's.
Have a lovely day x0 -
The braxton hicks aren't painful, just becoming more frequent as the due date gets closer. It's a good thing I guess!
Today has been a lazy day. I've wrapped more Christmas gifts. Still got quite a few to do, but getting there. I also wrapped the gift from the baby to ds1 after the birth. I set up the Moses basket. It's hard to believe that there will be a baby in there soon!! I've added a few bits to next week's Tesco shop so that I can get this hospital bag finished. I've also ordered art of my dad's birthday gift (we're celebrating a few days after Christmas) and part of my mum's Christmas gift.
I've had a letter through showing my union fees for the next year, and I'll be saving money as I'll be on maternity. Yay :j
I did manage a snooze during the day, then woke up with lots of energy, which disappeared after an hour or 2. Feeling shattered again this evening. Tomorrow will be another quietish day, so hopefully I'll be ready for work on Monday  Will put the decorations up tomorrow for Halloween, and carve our pumpkins.
Dh and ds came home with the pj's I'd asked for, an alternative dinner to the list (it was supposed to be pizza, but we had some during the week instead) and a pair of shoes from New Look that I'd had my eye on for a while. :j So much for me not having new clothes in November (and we haven't even started the month yet!!) :rotfl:Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Another lazy day and I'm still feeling completely shattered. I have a feeling the fatigue is here to stay now! :rotfl: Today we've carved our pumpkins, put up our decorations, made a roast dinner, played and that's about it. Dh took ds out for the afternoon for a walk/on his bike and I listened to my hypnobirthing cd (first time this pregnancy....oops!). I fell asleep listening to it, which I take means I was nice and relaxed :rotfl:
I've painted my nails today (hands.........didn't have the energy to attack the feet. It currently means a choice between breathing or painting, and today breathing won!). I was feeling sorry for myself wishing we had more money so I could have a mani/pedi and then decided to get over it and sort it myself! I may even ask dh for a foot/leg rub tonight!
I've got work tomorrow, and I am now getting to the stage where I'm dreading it. Only 3 weeks left to go but I'm feeling bleurgh thinking about it. Dh has told me to finish early, but it could be another 2 months before baby is here and that's a long time to be on maternity without the baby, which means less time once baby is here.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Love a nice relaxed Sunday
You obviously needed the nap.
Not long to go now, you're near the finishing line now. Xx0 -
Hi MrsS, I went for large pjs with draw strings and button down fronts, I'm still wearing them now as they are great for night feeds (almost two and still waking in the night demanding boobie!)
Have your iron levels been ok this pregnancy? Mine were low last time and the result was constant fatigue.
Back to work today, absolutely dreading it. Hope yours goes wellMortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000 -
Evening MrsS,
Hope work was ok today. It occurred to me this morning but didn't have time to type- do you claim tax back on your union subs?Mortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000 -
Work actually went good. It generally does when I get there, but it's juts the thought of it. Maternity starts 2 weeks tomorrow :j Hope work went well for you Katzen.
Good thinking about the claiming tax back. I used to do it, my tax code reflected it. It doesn't any more so something I need to look into, thank you
My iron levels are actually bordering on high. They were when I was pregnant with ds as well. Thankfully, as otherwise I'd have had a blood transfusion after having ds! I think the tiredness is just a pregnancy thing, mixed with the waking every couple of hours every night. I was asleep before 10 last night, and woke first at 11:30. It did take me quite a while to figure out why the clock said 23 something, and what the 23 meant :rotfl:
My mum has ds today. She phoned yesterday to say she wanted him for the morning, as she's had a tough week or so and he will put a smile on her face. Wasn't expecting that, so it was a nice surprise (as much as I love him.....he is the biggest ball of energy ever!!).Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500
