Oh, and the next loan payment has gone out today, which brings the total to under £12,000. Afternoon starting at over £15,000 it's so nice to see this going the right way!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500

I was awake so decided to check the bank accounts on the off chance the money had gone in from Premium bonds.....and it has :j
I've paid the ERC for switching the mortgage, and it was a few pounds less than I thought as a few days had passed since having the quote from them. I also opened a 12 month savings account last night. It's got 5%, payable after 12 months, though it is also instant access. I've decided to split money between a couple of savings accounts, this one with the high interest, and another lower interest one. The thought is that if we do need to dip in a thing some point, then I won't be touching the high interest one, and that will be my emergency fund. I needed £1 to open it, so my emergency fund is currently £1 :rotfl:
I've also just checked the Tesco credit card and compared it to this point last month. By this date last month I had 26 transactions on the card, this month I've got 13. :j finger crossed I can keep it low for the whole month.
Today won't be a nsd. I'm taking ds for his haircut this morning, and then will pop to co-op later for poppadums to go with our curry tonight. The same meal as last night, and to be honest it wasn't all that nice! The first disappointing slow cooker one I've had from the dump bags. Will still eat the rest tonight, though!! I love curry, but have never made one that tasted as nice as from a jar (or definitely not as nice as from the local restaurant!!!).
I'm not planning any other spends today (unless the erc payment counts!!!).Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Morning,
You're up earlier than me this morning
Well done for getting your debt down, you're doing great.0 -
Today's spends:
Son's haircut £8
Co-op for poppadoms for dinner and some jam doughnuts (yum!) £2.50
Paid for son's rugby up until Christmas £28.19
£38.69 spent today.
I did have a £2 refund in my paypal account from the Works. I ordered 16 books at the weekend. They have arrived this afternoon, so need to look through them now to see what 2 are missing for the refund. Need to do it without ds noticing though!!
I've started on the hospital bags today. Well I have started packing the baby's one. All I need to buy for that is cotton wool (though I have got wipes specifically for newborns so wondering whether I'll get away with those or do I need to do the cotton wool/water thing whilst I'm in hospital!). I need to finish sorting through the baby things now and decide what clothes I'm actually going to take in. I have newborn and up to 1 month. Ds was over 9 lbs so I'm guessing I'll be better off with up to 1 month. I may pack a small extra bag with a few newborn bits in it in case, and dh can bring it in if the baby is smaller than I'm expecting.
I've popped a couple of pound coins to one side today ready for hospital parking. Though I'll probably need that with appointments I have before the baby is born. Will need to add more at some point, but it's a start!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Dh's wages have gone in today. They won't be touched until November, though, but it is nice to see the 'wages' account build up. My 5% account is officially open (with my whole £1 in it). Today won't be a nsd as I need petrol. I only usually fill up at Tesco for the points, but not going near today so I think I'll have to use the local (more expensive) garage (which I hate doing!!!). I'm trying to limit petrol to £25 per week at the moment, though it is difficult. You don't get many car trips out of £25!!!
Other than that, I think today is going to be pretty quiet. The weekend is looking busy, so a quiet day will be good! I may do a bit more of the hospital bags and get started with mine! The baby's nursery does need to finish being organised so I could do that today as well!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I didn't do anything that I planned to today! We had a very lazy morning. I think ds was very tired as he just wanted to stay in bed with me and watch cartoons. We usually do that for around half an hour in the morning and then get up, but this morning he was happy to cwtsh up under the duvet!
I still haven't filled the car up with petrol (though the light did come on earlier!!). I'm just refusing to use the super expensive one nearby! Dh is going near to Tesco tomorrow so I've asked him to Take the car and fill up when he's there.
Ds came out of school with his school photo proof. I may be biased, but it is a lovely picture. I'm so chuffed as it is his first ever school picture. I've spent £25 ordering the pictures from that. Dh also popped to the co-op earlier and spent just over £4. I had reflexology whilst ds was at school, which cost £25, but I had the money put to one side for it. It is so relaxing!!
I've decided to go to Boots tomorrow to buy the toiletries I need for my hospital bag. We'll be near a pretty big Boots and I have just under £10 of points on my boots card so will use them.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Today is going to be a busy day. I'm having my flu jab this morning (yay.....more needles!!!). I'm then out for the day with ds and my parents whist dh works. This evening we are going out for food to celebrate dh's dad's birthday. We've already been told that food is being paid for tonight, and my mum doesn't usually let me pay for anything so today shouldn't be too expensive.
Dh is going to put petrol in the car. He'll probably fill it right up, which is going to cost not far off £60!!! I'm going to pick up toiletries for my hospital bag (must make a list before I go) but hopefully I can use Boots points for the lot.
On top of those spends I'm budgeting £20 for today.
I have myself a mini pedicure yesterday (well I painted my toenails :rotfl: ). They actually don't look to bad considering bending over to do them now makes breathing very difficult!! Cheaper than getting someone else to do it!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
It has definitely gone colder!! I'm already in bed (yes, on a Saturday night!!!) and feel a little cold!
Today has been a good day. Flu jab was nice and quick and easy (well maybe not nice). My spending has been:
Cakes: £2.50
Drink: £1
Night time Pull ups for ds: £6 (£2 per pack in Tesco at the moment so I bought 3 packs!!)
Another drink: £1.50
Toiletries for hospital bag: £0 (got them all with Boots points)
Total spend (before petrol): £11
Almost half of my £20 budget so I'm happy with that!!!
Dh did fill up the car with petrol today, which cost £54. I'm hoping a full tank will last a good fortnight now. There's only £20 left in the petrol pot until my next pay, which is the 25th. We should be able to make it stretch until then!
I've put another couple of pound coins in the hospital parking pot. I've got £4 there now. It's a £1 for 6 hours, and will have at least another 2 visits before baby is here, so hopefully I can find another £4 before then.
Pregnancy wise my hips and pelvis aren't becoming more and more painful every day now. My hips were really painful last night and woke me up a couple of times. My pelvis mainly hurts when I walk, but when it does hurt I can really feel it! Ouch!!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
A quick update before bed.
I'm feeling completely drained today. I woke every 2 hours last night as it was so painful to turn. It's going to be a fun 2 months. I've actually cancelled my overtime this week so I'm just doing my usual day, and have given work the option of finding someone else for my overtime next week in case I'm still feeling rough. The site where my flu jab went in is sore, red and has a lump there so that's possibly not helping.
I've had a couple of small spends today:
Christmas/birthday gift for dh (I need to decide what he's having when): £5.89 (less than half the rrp so very happy)
Tesco for milk and sprouts: £2
New swimming bag for ds as his has broken: £2.49
Donation to NSPCC for Santa letter which I order for ds every year: £5
Other than that I have slept today, spent time with ds, caught up with Corrie, and filled in some surveys. I've made £3.80 in surveys today so just waiting for that to come through and I'll have enough for another withdrawal. Dh worked this morning. He earned £110 but has said he wants to keep £40 aside for getting me something once baby is here. That means £70 going into wages account ready for next month.
Dh has also told me this evening that he applied for another job this week. The closing date was today. He doubts he'll hear anything as he has no experience at all in the field, but the pay would be much better than he is on now. He'd start off at £23,000pa and that would rise to £32,000pa after 6 months training. I'm definitely not getting my hopes up, but the increase in wages would be amazing!!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Morning,
Hope you slept better last night.
Fingers crossed for your hubby, it would be amazing if he did get the job.0
