A pound stretching maternity

Another day.........
Didn't quite manage the 8 hours sleep, about 7 so not bad!
After 2 nsds, today won't be one. Family day out, will probably need to put some petrol in the car and need a couple of bits from Tesco. Milk, mainly. Taking a picnic with us, but will eat dinner out or have a takeaway.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Hope you're feeling better, it's awful feeling ill at the best of times let alone being pregnant as well. Have a nice day.0

I've had some surveys today, earnt about £1. Not much, but it all adds up. Dh is supposed to be getting a bonus at the end of the month, which will be a nice little bit extra for the baby/maternity fund. All extra pennies will be saved at the moment, and not paid off the loan. Hopefully, when I'm back in work, things will be more stable financially and we'll be able to know a few months of this loan. 48 payments left at the moment! Oh, I've also converted eon energy rewards to Tesco clubcard vouchers today. It was 256 points, which will be over £10 in eating out or days out vouchers.
Morning,
So good to see you're taking advantage of the E.ON rewardsit's a really good scheme.
Thank you

Today didn't go quite to plan.
I didn't feel right when I got up this morning, and as we were getting things ready I was just feeling hotter and unwell. I had quite a few Braxton hicks yesterday, and was aware that the place we were going today involved quite a bit of walking, hills and steps. I actually burst into tears (I don't do crying often!!) with Dh and said I didn't think I'd cope with the day and was feeling rough. Dh sent me to bed to relax and they had a men's day out instead.
Thankfully as the day went on I felt loads better, and I've had no Braxton hicks which is a bonus!
Dh and ds arrived home around 5:30 and ds came into the house upset. Dh mentioned he'd been a bit clingy all day and had been a little flat. Cue a cuddle with mummy on the sofa and he was completely burning up. Temp of 39.3 ish. He didn't want dinner, just cuddles and bed, so he had medicine and a drink and off to bed. We checked his temp quite regularly, it dropped to 38.8, but then went back up to 39.3. I never know how high is too high so I gave the out of Hours doc a call (they're amazing where we are) and they wanted to see him. Bundled him in the car and off to the doc where he had the same high temp, a fast heart rate (apparently normal when they're poorly), red throat, pink ears so an upper respiratory virus. They were happy for us to keep treating him at home, but if anything changed to take him straight back down.
So, we're now home. Ds back in bed. We've got an alarm set at 3 to give him more medicine and to check his temp. Tomorrow is going to be mainly sofa and tv time. Again! We're busy with these bugs in our house at the moment!
Other than that, today I have earnt 80p doing surveys. I have also been accepted on a washing up liquid trial where I'll be sent 2 separate ones to try. I'm hoping I'm sent bottles and not sachets!! I found out Dh's bonus will be £200. That will sit nicely in the baby/maternity fund.
I've just updated Dh and ds's spends on YNAB, so that's all up to date. We're within budget nicely (well, when I say nicely, there is a tiny bit left in the account! At least it's not zero!!). I usually start the next month's budget after my payday, which is is 7 days (not that I'm counting!!).
Right, let's see if I manage a bit of sleep before nursing duties! I hate seeing my baby boy poorly.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I though ds would sleep in a little today, but he was awake at his usual time. He had medicine during the night. His temp is still high today, but not as high as it was and he's very quiet. Quiet, cuddly day today.
If I get a chance I'm aiming to catch up with the the laundry today, as well as go through the freezers to see what exactly we've got. I have 2 freezers and they are full to the brim, but I have no idea what's in them!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Ds is still pretty poorly. He ended up coming out in a rash today, and had a high temp all day so I took him to the doctor. Turns out that he's got a bad case of tonsillitis, and they've sent a swab of his throat away to see if it's strep throat. He's got antibiotics for the next 10 days. His temp went back up to around 39.4 just before bed, but last I checked it was down to the early 38's. He's very unsettled in bed tonight. Fingers crossed the antibiotics and plenty of paracetamol/cuddles/ice cream will do the job.
Ds has been very clingy today (understandably), but it has meant that I haven't done anything. He cried when I went for a shower, and also wouldn't let me walk into the kitchen without him following. I hate seeing him poorly.
Today was going to be a nsd, but that didn't quite happen. I ended up spending £8 odd in the co-op buying nice drinks/ice lollies, etc for ds as I've been struggling to get him to drink today.
I've also just spent £35.20 online at Debenhams on 2 pairs of maternity pyjamas. They were supposed to be £44, but I got 20% off and I can collect them tomorrow. I thought I'd manage without maternity pjs. I was wrong. My usual pjs are starting to feel pretty uncomfortable, and I'm still not quite 6 months. I couldn't believe how difficult it was to find nice maternity pjs that I can hopefully wear in hospital and afterwards as well. I've looked on every clothing website I know this evening and none were quite right until I remembered about Debenhams. I hope they are as nice on!
I have made one more online purchase, but I couldn't resist. I saw that certain baby hooded towels were reduced to 97p with free delivery on Amazon. I ordered 2, so that came to £1.94 in total. They're currently at the lowest price they've ever been at, and do at times sell for £7 each! I'm happy with those spends.
Dh is working late tonight. He popped home for dinner, had a cuddle with ds and then went back out to work. This week will be a long week for him, and I'm very impressed with him and proud of him for doing it. I did pick up some of his favourite sweets when I popped into the co-op with ds earlier.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

Ds ended up back downstairs with us for a little while watching kids tv at 10:45 last night. He wouldn't settle at all, was very upset and just wanted lots of cuddles! Dh then slept in his room last night. He seems much happier this morning, and hasn't had any paracetamol since 11 o'clock last night. His temp is down to high 36's this morning which is great for him. The 3 of us then slept until gone 7 this morning, which never happens here!!
I've got a meeting after lunch today about supply teaching with an agency (not my favourite thing to do, but it will be short term and very part time). They don't pay well at all, but if I can manage 3 days before my maternity leave, it will be over £200 in the bank. My mum is popping over to sit with ds whilst I go out, which he'll love. I'll pick up my debenhams order when I'm out.
I'm going to try and do the laundry today, sort the freezer and plan tonight's dinner. No idea what we'll have tonight yet.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
