Best broadband provider in Hastings/St. Leonards?

Hi. Calling out to residents of the above for any ideas based on their experiences. I've been burned before (BT, but that was years ago, although they still seem to get really hateful reviews now) and when you look at online reviews, almost every provider gets terrible ratings. The thing with that is that it usually varies from area to area, so I'm looking for locals who have had a good experience. ADSL or Fibre is OK. I would rather a good ADSL than a bad Fibre line.
By the way, I have EE in my current place and it's terrible. I suspect it's got something to do with the old BT line installed, but nonetheless, they're not on my top ten list.
Thanks in advance, Sam.

Their will be two sources of supply .
Virgin Media if available .
Or BT Open reach cable or fibre .
The service depends upon your line quality and distance from the exchange . Thats going to be the same for any provider .
Fibre is far more fault tolerant than any ADSL .
Broadband street stats may help.

Hi. Thanks for the reply and the useful link. I think my main concern is not so much speeds as consistent service and decent customer service when there's a problem - I mean, I would rather have 17MB that works than 50MB that is patchy and that nightmare of sitting on the phone all day being fobbed off with excuses.
This is why I'm hoping that someone local will chime in with their experiences. I just asked someone I know who lives upstairs from the flat I'm about to move into and they reckon their BT broadband was not so great. I think they are on ADSL, so no word yet on fibre optic. I'm fully aware how fibre optic works and that it's much better, but also much more expensive, especially with the £50 connection cost.0 -
Zen consistently get good reviews and their support line is helpful, but not open 24/70

I always thought Zen provided good service but their charges were high.
Looking at their site it looks like they are now offering broadband with or without line rental https://www.zen.co.uk/yourhome/superfast-fibre-broadband-packages/
If you can do without a landline it makes their prices a little more competitive. Technical Support is only open until 8 on weekdays and 5 at weekends but I don't think you would get much sense from many other ISP's outside those times.0 -
Hi. Thanks for the info about Zen. They actually seem to be one of the only suppliers not showered with complaints, and I say that's worth the few extra quid. It's looking likely that I'll go with them. Thanks for all your help and answers so far.0
