Please help me! I am having a nightmare!

Hi,

Hoping somebody wiser can help me!

I switched to plusnet from sky and have nothing but issues. Broadband so slow that it's useless - cant even load Google -periods of no Internet at all. The broadband only works in the room where the router is (dining room/kitchen as thats where the master socket is). It's plugged into the test socket. It's not bad in that room although is shy of the estimated speeds (8-10 mb). I live in a normal terraced house so not huge. I had absolutely no problems with Sky - excellent, wifi stretched all round the house with good speeds. My router is around 2-3 years old.

What can I do?! Sick of ringing them all the time to be told noise interference, they will reset levels, problem with the line at the exchange, resetting speeds etc- each one taking days to complete.

I am in contract untill Feb but could I not cancel as they are clearly not providing me with any reasonable service!

Why oh why did I switch from Sky?!

Only by paying your contract up to Feb .
Otherwise use the complaints procedure .
Are you not using the plusnet router ?

So, the broadband from Plusnet is OK but you are having issues with your Wi-Fi signal. This is nothing to do with your internet provider. No internet provider can guarantee Wi-Fi signals in a customer's premises.

Try another router. Use a Wi-Fi analyser app on a smart phone to see it their is any Wi-Fi channels that don't appear to be heavily used by neighbours. Check for other potential forms of interference.
