Warning: Amazon hacked account

I have created a new gmail account and will use this only for Amazon after the fraud team have been in touch.
I won't use auto forwarding to my main mail account.
The leak article made interesting reading and I'm just thinking what other changes I need to make to lose the tokens that the hackers have got hold of?
The tokens from the hacked Kindle log file (which I no longer use) would not have been valid after I changed my password yesterday,so I can't see how they got back in to my account again!?
Any advice welcomed
TIA
Vigman
PS I am normally a quiet person but you should have heard my anger when Amazon said they would not reimburse for article already sent out!!!!!! The hacker had used one day delivery before I had even seen the fraudulent order had been madeAny information given in my posts or replies is intended to be of interest and/or help to members of the forum. If this is a real name and address he has got balls! Tweeted it to the Dutch police but with no reply:

Also could MSE run this as a feature story?

To be honest from what I'm reading in this thread the best thing is to use something which doesn't just make your passwords slightly hard but extremely hard but with that you'd then need a password manager. I'd personally recommend https://lastpass.com/
This link gives an example of the sort of passwords you can generate using it but also don't have to remember yourself. https://lastpass.com/generatepassword.php0 -

Thanks but it seems like password changing doesn't work. I know a lot about the necessary passwords to create and where possible I use up to 14 characters including upper/lowercase letter, symbols and numbers. Nothing could have cracked my new one that quickly so there is another way into the Amazon account from the hacked Kindle log files?

As said before, its far more likely they have access to your emails to get back into your account so quickly.0 -
Well I have created a second Gmail account just for Amazon use with no redirect and put a ridiculously strong pw on my main Gmail account.
If they still get in it could even be an Amazon employee, but I doubt that.

If i found an odd address on any account of mine i would be sending all my junk mail to them, minus the stamps of course.
Any old jiffy bags or packets that i can find will be stuffed just enough to get into the postbox.
They may ignore them but i will feel better.
PS if you have received a load of packages minus stamps it wasn't meCensorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
There must be more to this than just an Amazon hack. Every time I've changed a delivery address I've had to re-enter my card details, so the hacker must have that already!0
