I'm in France myself at the moment.
Please remember this was Bastille day , and on a big national celebration like that there will be large crowds.

They targeted it because it was Bastille day.
    Go relax enjoy

I believe you should not dwell on this and just go and enjoy your holiday. Having lived and worked in central London during events including IRA car bombs, Kings Cross fire and terrorist incidents there is nothing you can do. There are armed police and soldiers on the streets now so you can see this as reassuring. The people who all ready, live work or that are currently on holiday there are as safe as we are here. If a similar thing was to happen anywhere there was a crowd in this country there would not be armed police able to shoot the driver dead and even more people might be injured.

I say exactly the same. I was very close to the the 7/7 blast near Russell Square. Shortly after that, German friends were due to visit me with their kids. They almost cancelled but i managed to persuade them. They agreed to come on condition that we didn't travel by tube. Nothing happened when they were here.

The UK's terror threat is as great as anywhere else in Europe, there is only really Portugal and Greece that have lower risk levels. Just being here you are subject to that risk, so it wouldn't be much different if you went to France. Nice will be fiercely guarded right now, don't let it ruin your holiday - I think wherever you went the terror risk would be at the back of your mind - I'm off to Corfu and still worry. We must show our French neighbours we care and we must get on with our lives, the terrorists WANT us to live in fear.

France is very safe, I'd be more worried in London.
Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)
