    Your incorrect, I paid £240.68

    2 passenger
    4 x 16.99 = 67.96
    4 x 40.00 = 160.00
    227.96

They'd owe me 12.04 after changing flights

no, you owe them £160 assuming the fares are not higher than you paid for each sector...you may have missed my posts above but they do not refund the fare difference if the new fare is lower
  • yes I am aware they don't give refunds but the £160 should be absorbed into what I have already paid ?

I'm not incorrect. The price you paid will only go towards covering the price of the new flight, not the change fee which you will need to pay in addition. This is how it is with every airline.

that is not how it works
you have a change fee of £40 per flight that is payable
in addition you may have an additional cost if the new flights are more expensive than you paid (no additional if the new flights are the same price or lower)
the minimum you would be required to pay is the change fee, it is not absorbed into anything
  • Ok this now makes sense I assumed the 160 would be absorbed, this wasn't explained clear enough on my webchat, so Ill just cut my losses

regarding the accommodation the best I can hope for is that Travel republic can offer me some kind of voucher I can use in the future

    Thanks for everyone's responses
  • Quick update - I've been offered a full refund (minus £40 cancellation charge) for my Gozo accommodation (22-25 July) from Travel Republic

They can't refund my Malta accommodation as I'm supposed to be checking in today, I may be able to move my booking with the hotel to another date in the future, I have asked to see if it can be moved to a week in October, fingers crossed will update you
