Sky has agreed to send me a replacement router but tied to 12 months contract. Is it a matter of swapping them.
Thanks

Hopefully Sky should set it all up for you.
or you could purchase a sky one off ebay, but it would need your password putting in (assuming you know it) and kinda have to know what you are doing.0 -

I understood the username and password were hard coded into the router, so there's no scope to change them.0 -
Oh. Normally you can change them. Not tried on my Sky one.
So the ones being sold on ebay are useless ?0 -

Straight swap will work no problem.
All sky routers will work on any sky broadband account, even someone else's as long as the previous account wasn't banned for non payment.
The only time you need to extract a password from a sky router is if you want to use a non sky router.0
