About 6 months ago I entered into a tenancy in common with a lifelong friend as a way for us both to get on the property ladder. Recently he had his first paranoid schizophrenic attack. Thanks everyone for your input. I realize I opened up with a broad subject but It has been useful to hear from people who have had a variety of different experiences.

I have a better idea of my options now and can see that none are easy.

I decided against giving details of what happened as I wanted to keep focus here on the financial side. What will happen with the tenancy is not a decision I will make now but one that will emerge from discussions with my friend and medical team as well as the experiences that the future holds.
