I will go round tonight, I am also going to a house further down Devon Road, who also appear to have had their fence removed (they left a large sign out for the workmen saying that they have removed their fence, this was painted on a large piece of plywood apparently, in case they turn up again) maybe we can join forces.

Will keep you all informed of any progress.

    Thanks

If I'm looking at the correct parcel of land it belongs to No.26 Harrow Road. The title number is EGL493497 if you want to download it to double check. Hope that helps.

It sounds like a 'green space' included in the original build plans. Usually taken over by the council or a management company.

    Thanks Lorian will do.

The workmen where parking in Devon Road apparently, we thought because Harrow Road has parking restrictions, and they were accessing the land through the alleyway between 24 and 26 Harrow Road, both these houses are rented out.

Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.
  • Its a potential development site, for a small housing scheme, i would guess.

Access coming off Eastbury Avenue - would seem the only way into it.

The strimming and ground clearance will be to tidy up (reduce chances of finding any wildlife) ahead of the required surveys and inspections, that the Planning Officers and Statutory Consultees will require.

If they are able to get access, as its located in a sustainable location, there will be a presumption in favour of development.

I'm not sure why there'd take your fences down, without consent, unless they intend to replace all of them, to identify the plot better.

That would be my best guess.

There is pedestrian access one house away from No26 and it seems that No26's garden has no boundary fence with the land.

Short of demolishing a house, I can't see where access for a vehicle could come from, unless several ransom amounts were paid to residents in Devon Road for garden space.

Without vehicular access, building anything would be a nightmare, even assuming the council would grant permission, which seems very unlikely.

    .
The access there could only ever be pedestrian. You could get a digger through, but as a permanent vehicular access, it's a non-starter.

Sorry I wanted to Thank you all and update you earlier, but my youngest son, who has depression is not good today, partly not helped by this situation as he is obsessed with locked doors, windows etc. , have managed to get him a GP appointment, so hopefully things will be OK.

Thank you for the especially tbps. Thanks.

From this I managed to track down the owners names, did a google search and got the name of a property management company, but they did not have a phone number, so did a search on google maps and went to street view and looked at the front of the business. At the same place is a Solicitors, and low and behold one of the solicitors names matches up with the name on the title deed......

I rang and left a message, thankfully someone rang back within 20 minutes. Was amazed that with your help we managed to get their details. They have not arranged any work to the area, so I told them that if I was them I would investigate immediately, chap was very apologetic and promised to update me when he has any information, let hope hes true to his word. Will update you all when I get more information.
