Morning all.
Tenant has now put off till monday. I don't mind but I am getting nervous about putting it on the market. So worried it will sit there for ages after the tenant leaves!
Also lots of worries in farming about what the future will look like. Hopefully we are robust enough to weather the storm but you never know.
Went to 5 Guys last night for our finish harvest treat. It's so expensive!! DH paid as I said I'd rather cook at home but he wanted to go out.
I've got £114 left in the grocery budget for this month. With fruit from the orchard and food from the freezer I'm going to see how little I can do it on. 8 days of food. I'm secretly hoping to have £50 left.
Tonight's dinner is broccoli and mushroom pie with crusty bread.
Anyone got any ideas for kids meals in the hot weather that's forecast? Imwe are happy eating salads but the children just do chopped up veg and that's about it.
Next weekend will be expensive as hoping to get to the Natural History museum in London as a final holiday treat.
Have a good day all.0 -
Morning all.
So a last minute bbg has meant I'm not going to have £50 left! However, it was brilliant fun and had a great time with good friends.
Have put some kids clothes on facebook and ebay but they're not selling. I'm thinking I may as well charity shop them really.
Just had a little sit down and worked out that with extra saving this month my savings total is now at £3451.51 of my £5000 total. So this month I have again smashed my goal of £203.44 by saving £248.44. It shows how well I can do with Gazelle intensity really! ONly £1548.49 to go. At £203.44 that will take another 7 months but I'm thinking I can do it a fair bit quicker than that. Hoping by Xmas. I'm secretly hoping the house will sell ok and then I'll be left with 5k!
Kids shoe shopping today for school. I have £120 in Clarks vouchers, lets hope thats enough!!
Also sat down and had a word with myself this morning. I'm not looking after my mental or physical health and its showing. I'm now 10st 10 which is overweight for my height. So this week I am going to:
1) My fitness Pal every day
2) Walk, jog or garden for 30 mins every day
3) TOMM every day.
Lots of gardening to catch up on today! Have a good bank holiday all0 -
Morning all.
So a busy week here. I've told my tenant we're on the move. I felt awful as he looked like he'd had the rug pulled out from under him. He's been there 5 years. I asked 2 EA's to do a valuation. This was on Wednesday. One hasn't even bothered to ring me back but the other has already been round. He has higher fees but I'm impressed already with his attitude. I cannot abide people who can't get things done. He reckons to put it on at £190. I think he's being ambitious but I think it's always better to go in high than low. Will probably instruct him on Monday.
Just been doing my end of the month YNAB. We always end up emptying the sinking funds in Aug - childcare, eating out, school clothes etc. Although we are still in a good place in the Joint Account I'm going to try and have a very frugal September to get us back on track.
Have a good day all!0 -
Hello all.
Well, the house is now nearly on the market. Pictures were taken yesterday and it should go live next week. Hoping all the Brexit uncertainty doesn't put everyone off!
Enjoying being back at school. DS has just started and is doing really well.
I'm still listening to Dave Ramsey. I find the whole be intentional message really good! Wish I could apply it to my diet!

Glad your DS is settling into school. I like DR too although sometimes he is a bit too black and white for my tastes.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi I've really enjoyed reading your diary - you have been doing so well. I am just starting out on my MF journey and am going to look at having separate accounts for different things as I have never done this before. Fingers crossed for your house sale.MFW #69 Mortgage remaining Jan 2021 £221,644; Jan OP £1000;0

Hello all.
Thanks for the kind words yogavibes. Good luck on your journey.
So the good news is I've managed to save £4000 towards my Emergency fund. The bad news is the house has been on the market since the beginning of September and isn't shifting. A few viewings but all the feedback is it's too small. It is tiny so there's not much I can do about that! I was hoping for a bit of Brexit Clarity to help shift it but that seems to be a looong way off!

Hi zcart, I'm glad your DS is settling in ok at school! That's great news about the extra £4000 in the emergency fund. Hopefully a buyer will come along soon for your house. Is the market near you moving at the moment or are most things hanging around for a while?Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000

becky170 I think a lot of things are hanging around at the moment. There's a lot of 2 bed flats on the market at about the same price and there's also some similar houses. I don't really mind if I end up hanging onto it, I just don't want to lose my tenant if I do as he's fab!0
