Wednesday 13th July - what small DFW things will you do today?

Hi all
Busy morning at work, had to go out on a site visit - lots of walking so exercise and fresh air while I was being paid! I forgot to buy bread yesterday so had to buy a sandwich too but found one for 85p so not too bad.
More paid stuff this afternoon. I am flagging this week, the constant routine of two jobs, housework and taxi-ing the kids is catching up with me. Never mind, I am working at home so will put the radio on nice and loud and get a brew going first.0 -
Today I have/will:
1. Checked online banking
2. Meals from stores
3. Paid bills
4. Free postcode lottery
5. Update debt app
6. Cat received two free samples of whiskers wet food pouches so she will have one of those for her tea
7. Cancelled Amazon instant prime so will save £5.99 a month
8. Bought reduced pizza in M&S to have for tea Saturday instead of takeaway.
9. Had building society book updated to show I have £190 towards our family Christmas shopping trip to Oxford
10. Beauty courseworkTesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024. Slava Ukraini0 -
Hi guys - opps haven't done a lot today...
* Hung washing on line
* Made chocolate courgette cake
* picked a couple more courgettes and a patty pan - that is nearly 2kgs of courgettes since the weekend!
* went food shopping and almost stuck to the list! Spent £48 but I reckon it'll last 11 days...
still need to:
* vacuum
* make topping for cake
* photo at least 5 things to stick on fleabay this evening
I did a bad thing! Took dgd for a photo session - was £4.99 for the sitting and 1 complimentary photo... But got hooked and purchased a package for £50 (5 extra prints). They are lovely and as I get them digitally I am thinking I will get frames and give them as Christmas gifts for dd and some family members. But part of me is regretting this decision....
Anyway... xDF as at 30/12/16

Hi All
Princess It sounds like you are following a well worn path there. I had the exact same thing. We got the CCJ against our guy but left it there as forced bankcrupcy costs you money and who knows how much these people owe. I wish you well and really feel for you as anything to do with weddings is emotional anyway.
La E you sound like you have a lot on your plate. I hope you can minimize any debt coming your way.
Broker emailed this afternoon to say it looks like we have our new rate. Just have to wait for the offer tommorow now. This should save us £297 a month. Which will be a great help as I try and transition into running a new business which is slightly terrifying to say the least.
Took my latest ebay sale to the post office which was really expensive TBH. First time Ive really had that so just going to chalk it up, & congratulate myself on another item decluttered from the house.
Oh and found 1p roadkill

Thanks for starting us off Ally - good luck at work. I can imagine how busy it will be for you today if my MIL is anything to go by - she bought your place out of house and home in the sale. :eek: Makes me shudder thinking about the amount she has bought!
LOL. Actually today wasn't too bad for me.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

Lol. Nearly all these things are water, sodium laureth sulphate and glycerine.
And don't get me started on Cillit Bang Drain Unblocker which seems to be mainly soap and bleach, neither of which chemically have any actual unblocking "powers". You would have more chance of success with vinegar and bicarb.

Survived another day. And this time next week I will be celebrating the start of the hols! Happy days. Still tired. Still finding it hard going keeping up with 'business as usual' so close to the end of term. Still not getting much done.

Evening all
Not much done today as I had GD, and she turned up in a foul mood- Wrapped up some ebay parcels, took one to the local shop first thing for the Collect + service (over 2kg, even minimally, costs a fortune via Royal Mail :eek:)
- Cheered up GD and had a good, if exhausting, day with her
- Post office to send off a couple more ebay parcels
- HM meals from stores, lasagne from leftover bolognese sauce from the fridge, with roasted courgettes (yes, we have lots of these too :rotfl:) and French beans for dinner today
- Not spent anything

Anyway other things for today:
Finished teacher gifts, just need to wrap one to go in a minute. Am pleased with my efforts. Made white buttons with rest of melted white chocolate I didn't use for the piping
Check banking, update sheet
Give product to customer, profit to savings. See if mum will collect another order for me too so I can give to customer at weekend. Really good profit on this as I already have 4 of the products in and I'd paid for them :T
LO pork and chorizo stew for lunch - not sure when I'll eat it though
Snacks and bottle of Tap water to work, hot drink for commute
Card from box for birthday will hand deliver via sister
Gifted voucher I won't use
Put dishwasher on short programme
Update present sheet after I bought the Smyths offer yesterday
Think that's about all, have a good day everyone. PF.
Good day considering how crazy busy work was. Lots to do tomorrow but working from home
Did smile myself on the way home when I heard the new chancellor was nicknamed 'spreadsheet phil' and I thought - hmmm I'm sure I/ some of us on here could give him a run for his money ('scuse the pun) :rotfl:
I've also done a TT to two savings pots and signed up to free broadband for 2 years :T0
