No as the company in question told me building inspector isn't needed and they finished in a day a building inspector wouldn't of been able to see the joists before flooring went Down0 -

If they told you a building inspection isn't required and they can self certify what does that tell you?
I think you're right to be concerned, if all work is done to regs why are they so against it being inspected?0 -

Exactly but your saying I should pay them ASAP?0 -
I have emailed them since and they have said they can instruct someone to come out and inspect if I pay an extra 300 for piece of mind0

However they want the full 5 grand payment first and today0

Well, legally you have a non habitable space and that's what you contracted them to do. I don't see what grounds you have to withhold their payment.
I would be concerned about future plans for a full conversion. Where will the stairs go? You'll have to open up the previous work for the building inspections too.
I think there's a bit of buyers remorse coming in now, the time to sort all this was before they started. I know it's not what you want to hear but that's how it is.0 -

As posted above my contract was to comply with regs. They have structurally altered the weight bearing of my roof. This is extremely risky if not done correctly. Surely any homeowner who doesn't want their home to collapse would reasonable want to ensure it has been done correctly0 -

They are ecolodfs like I said they seem really good the only issue is people need to know if their home is safe for their families to live in.
There's been a thread on here about them before, it wasn't you asking before you employed them was it?
I'm sure there work will be safe, however everything on their site is carefully worded. If you look at their standard package I'll stand by what I said. It's just a boarded out loft, everything else they do is an upmarket version of that. You've at best got their hobby room and not a loft conversion.
Whilst they've not had you over they've sold you something different to what you wanted.0
