i have been pulling my hair out all day with this thread and the other links and am so confused dont know what i am doing!! originally set out to get ipod nano video which i thought was about £140 way out of league but then reading about these £69/£79 4gb ipod nanos seemed perfect as they look like they have video too, but am i wrong??? was going to settle for a sumvision mp4 for about £45 as that has video but is it worth paying £79 at john lewis and begging for a code to make it bit cheaper if it has video???? is it that they both have video but the ones for £149 have more gbs as am sure 4gb will do, am so confused really need some straight answers have no techno knowledge and although i have read all specs on all listing in different shops not sure if them saying stuff like "see all album covers" means its a proper video. want to surprise son for xmas so dont want to question him too much all i know is he said it was a video one. friend going ny next week but looked on few .com pages and they seem about same price as here, please help before i make myself bald

The iPod nano's which are being sold on Amazon and John Lewis for the £70-80 mark do not do video. Only the 30gb and 80gb in the black and white casings do from the older iPod models. The new ipod nano models do play video these are the shorter and fatter ones which are £99 for 4gb. All the current iPod's which were released 5th September will play video other than the Shuffle.

And Amazon aren't jacking up the prices. Read the posts.

Green and blue one suppled by Amazon - Silver by a third party

  • I managed to get an 8GB Sony Walkman, for under £79.95, for the exact same reason, a new stock is coming out and they were trying to shift it, admittedly it's pink since it was the only one left, but I would pay that price for another MP3 which only had half as much.

Plus they still have the coloured ones available, cheaper at £75.60.
  • I appreciate these have come down in price and therefore by default are a bargain, but I've just taken delivery of my new model 80GB iPod classic for £159 delivered, direct from Apple. Surely the people who are buying more than one old-model Nano would be insane not to get one of these instead?!

  • Just in case anyone's interested, Tesco's deal of the day today is a 1gig iPod shuffle if you sign up to their DVD rental - however it seems you get it after you've paid for your third month. May be of interest if you're thinking of taking out a DVD rental subscription anyway.
