I took out a loan from Provident some time ago, i arranged to meet the agent at a friends address who he was due to call on as the agent was busy. I filled in the loan forms with my correct address on them and signed said forms. The agent was aware that my home address was different to the place where i had signed the loan forms.. I,ve been told that all loan applications must be completed at the address on the agreement and because the loan application was not filled out at the address on the application that the loan is unenforceable, is this correct..? i would be grateful of any advise/help.. thank you

so if you buy a sofa, and take out a loan for it, the sofa salesman has to follow you to your house to fill in the loan form?

An interesting mind set showing here. Take out a loan and then the first question asked is,
Is this loan enforceable?
Not How do I make the payments.
As long as your real address is on the application. How can it possibly matter where the forms were actually signed.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Home loans or doorstep loans have a different set of rules to shop purchases. I believe its part of proving you live at that address above just having *paper proof* because the agent has to collect from there every week rather than a sofa loan paid by direct debit.. A agent from another home loan company told me about this and was very sure he was right as they are instructed all loan agreements must be complete at the applicant's home address, rather than round his mums house, or next doors neighbours house..0

If you decide to listen to this person and dont pay the loan, go back to them once your credit history is destroyed and ask them what to do next.0 -

That's to help with ID and for collection purposes, due to the high risk nature of the customer base.0 -
The agent i spoke to said that during his training they are told if the loan paperwork isn't completed at the applicant's address its legally unenforceable, this was also pointed out to him by the agent who went out with him for the 1st 2 weeks on the job.0

The OP's credit history is probably already pretty dire if she's borrowing money from Provident in the first place.0
