Thompson pre allocated seats.Moneywasting?

Dear moneysavers,
we are travelling to Spain tomorrow with Thompsons air. I have an infant with me and decided that on check in the company will try to accommodate us and allocate seats together, but today I called Thompsons and they strongly recommended to pay for pre booked seats because maybe we will have to seat separately ,etc. I am now a bit scared, but pre allocated seats are not cheap. Has anyone got experience with that?

They won't put you together before check in. I would suggest getting there early if you don't want to pay for prebooked seats, although you may still have to pay at check in to book seats together.0

They will NOT seat an infant separate from it's parents, but perhaps not both parents together, just get there 2 hours before and all will be well...now you will get a reply telling you that they sat my child on the wing and my 95 year old gran in the toilet.........Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

Who is travelling on this booking?
Do you want a seat for your infant or will they be on your lap?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
The baby will be on my laps, but I would not want to be separated from my husband. My son can be difficult and usually husband is a great help0

The CAA say that an infant/child should be seated with one parent, if you all want to be seated together Thomson want you to pay.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
If you're flight leaves tomorrow then I doubt there will be many (if any) pre-allocated seats left to choose from. I wouldn't risk paying for seats as at this stage there's no guarantee you'll get seats together anyway.0

There are only certain seats you can sit in with a lap infant. This may make it even harder for them to seat both adults together.0
