Advice on choosing Laser Printer please

I will shortly run out of ink for our Epson DX7400 so rather than buy more rip off Epson cartridges I want to invest in a Laser Printer.
We only need mono but want a scanner/copier. Not bothered about wireless but son has an Apple Mac in his bedroom so would be useful for him.
Would like to buy compatible cartridges in the future.
What do you think of this one?

Thanks - Dolly

I have to admit that I have never bought a Laser printer, and last used one many years ago. But Laser printers have Toner cartridges, did you see the boxouts on the Ad:
"Printer & Extra original Brother toner, From £128.09"
"Printer with startup toner, £69.59."
I would buy the first choice, startup cartridges are like the ones that were in your Epson when you first bought it. The Brother toner will last much, much longer.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Thank you for your reply.
I did notice the price with the Brother Toner included  which I wouldn't buy.
I mentioned compatibles in my post to get peoples' opinions.
I'm doing some more research but welcome any input.

I got a Laser printer for the first time last year and now need to replace the cartridge for the first time.
Haven't decided yet if I get a cheap cartridge or try something similar to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81bU-hJRz4k There is no way I will pay for a Samsung cartridge although I am very happy with the printer.
This looks a good cheap deal at the moment http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ricoh-sp-213w-wireless-a4-mono-laser-printer-29-84-amazon-dispatched-from-sold-box-2477663#comments0 -

NO: I meant that it would be cheaper in the long run, to buy it with the Brother Extra cartridge! It will last far longer than the Starter cartridge.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Oh sorry. Got my wires crossed.
I meant I would buy it with the starter toner and then use compatibles if the experienced people here said they were OK.0 -

I really want one with scanning/copying but that HotUK onelooks really good for the money. I haven't got time at the moment to look at the youtube thingey (cooking/burning dinner) but thank you for your reply.
Just want a decent-ish one with scanning/copying which will use compatibles. Don't do that much printing but have only printed essentials for a long time due to high cost of Epson cartridges.
Thanks - Dolly0 -
I use compatibles in my Laser Printer, and have had no problems.0
