To re-register s&s isa or not to re-register...

i'm rather ignorant about this stuff, so forgive me if this is nonsense.. :)

earlier this year i took out a s&s isa with CIS (the sustainable leaders fund) - just to dip my toes in, really. hasn't been a terribly great ride so far, but that's not exactly uncommon at the moment :) and i'm in this for the long run, so i'm not too bothered by the recent market problems.

anyway, i've been contemplating taking out another fund (perhaps multiple?) and i was perusing MSE when i came across the article on discount brokers.

i noticed on the cavendish site (which was as far as i got) that you can re-register funds held somewhere else (other than other discount brokers) with them (re-registering not being the same as transfering!).

here is their page on the matter:

is it worth doing this? is it even possible? would this mean i can then purchase further funds from different institutions and keep them under the same ISA "wrapper"? (i'm currently well below the s&s ISA limit)

cheers,

Mike

That's exactly what you can do with any of the fund supermarkets. There are others, check them all before you commit.
  • ok, cool, so that's one advantage of re-registering.

does anyone know about the actual process? anything to watch out for?

i have monthly contributions currently going to CIS for my SL fund - is re-registration still possible in those circumstances?

    cheers,

    Mike
