I don't even know what one is.
You can tell I don't know much about cars huh.
OK, we buy any car is a definate no no but would a dealer offer better money?0 -
Ebay is another option“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Gumtree for that price point of car. With a fresh MOT try £850.0

Oh really? I honestly thought mileage is factored into the worth of the car.
Not a 13yr old Focus.
Value is more related to condition.
And in my experience low mileage cas of that age tend to have most if not all original parts which means they can be costly to own initially.
Especially if somebody puts them to work doing commuting duties, low mileage cars tend to have less maintenance as they get older, not huge things but brake fluid or exhaust parts.
Just my experience, I would certainly not pay extra for a low mileage 53 plate Focus.
But as the saying goes "one born every minute" you might fun somebody willing to do just that.
Though if all 53 plate Focus are under £500then you will get next to no calls if you price it around the £1000 mark.
EBAY might be a good choice as the car will find its own value.
Without seeing it you could try putting it up for £795 and see if you get a bite.
All you have to lose is the listing cost.
Let's be honest if you need cheap City or Commuting wheels a first generation Focus is a huge amount of car for the money.
They drive well, give decent economy and seem fairly robust as they head towards old age.0 -

Why is he taking the @@@@ ?
It's a relevant question and fits with my opinion of older low mileage cars.
They do tend to be neglected.0 -
It's not been serviced each year, no. Last service was 2 years ago when I got it serviced along with mot.
Now this might be a silly question, but with sevicing do you get a certificate or paperwork? I only have the mot green paper (white nowadays i think). Also, I am the second owner. I bought it off a friend who got it brand new (then sold it to me when she lost her job not long after).
I think you should be expecting to get less for your car than one with average miles!. It seems to have done lots of short trips to have such a low mileage so puts more strain on the engine. This means it needs servicing more often but seems you service it less often!.
It's definitely a car I would avoid buying!.0 -
So its a low mileage neglected shed just waiting for some sucker?
You will get receipts if you have it serviced, guessing you dont have those either. So no proof of servincing and not had a cambelt ever???Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Mmmm
So basically it's a neglected old knocker?0 -

from a dealer.
Admittedly it does have a couple of scrapes. You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0 -
When I put our car on Autotrader they suggested a price based on age and milage, I went just below it and sold in two days.0
