Hi,

I'm looking to sell my ford focus (53 model) as I have an opportunity to get a younger car for a good price.

Would auto trader be the best place to sell? and how do I judge how much it's worth? It's done less than 40k miles (yes, seriously).

  • Maybe you could have a look on autotrader and see what 2003 Ford Focus are going for. Just saying.
  • Define "best".

I did but most doesn't have a low mileage so hard to make an estimate.

Forget the low mileage, it's a 13 year old car.

Most money I guess and time wise within this month ideally but it can wait until end of Aug too.

Previous car I sold to we buy any car and got next to nothing for it. At the time I just wanted rid of that car asap so didn't really care as I was happy to have it off my hands.

Oh really? I honestly thought mileage is factored into the worth of the car.
  • Autotrader then imo

    Milage is still relevant.

Itss relevant, some will see it as a bonus almost new car but its 13 years old. Others will see a car thats done lots of short journeys or sat idle for long periods.

The big question is whats the service history like? Serviced every year even though it may have only done a few hundred or a couple of thousand miles?

It's not been serviced each year, no. Last service was 2 years ago when I got it serviced along with mot.

Now this might be a silly question, but with sevicing do you get a certificate or paperwork? I only have the mot green paper (white nowadays i think). Also, I am the second owner. I bought it off a friend who got it brand new (then sold it to me when she lost her job not long after).
