Asda won't respond.

Hello all

I purchased some clothes from George.com at the end of April and they didn't arrive. I am yet to receive a refund from Asda. I have contacted their helpline 3 times (once to enquire about the whereabouts of an order and twice to request a refund, only to be told that they were processing it). I've emailed via their contact us button twice and got no rely to either email.

I've tweeted their customer service about it,, got responses straight away, told they were referring it to the George.com management team and somebody would get back to me. They haven't. I tweeted again to be told somebody would get back to me and then I asked for an address which I could write to in order to complain. Nobody would give me an address, just the customer services number that I had contacted previously and the email that I sent my ignored emails to.

I've then written to Head Office and heard nothing back from them, plus I have twice emailed my complaint letter to the email address on their website.

I've had to go via my credit card provider who have given me a temporary credit for the items and they are awaiting any dispute from Asda before making this temporary credit permanent.

I know that this sounds like a petty complaint now but I want answers from them and compensation for the nearly 3 months of messing about that I have had to endure to sort this out. Has anybody got any ideas as to what I could do next please?!

thanks

  • As above but if you paid by credit card you could go for a charge-back which causes the retailer inconvenience and more than the refund.

I very much doubt you will get any compo as they did not leave you naked here with the non supply of the actual clothes, Claim back as per above posts.

I think the credit card company are already in the process of doing that.

The OP already has a "temporary" full refund from his card company, but it looks like he's hoping Asda will eventually reply with an apology and, doubtless, a gift voucher as "compensation".
  • On the subject of George, anyone know if they tend to honour the sale price difference if something gone down almost £100 after only taking del 1 week ago. Spoke to them and all they want to do is collect item and refund then said I can buy at sale price, by the time I get my refund chances are no stock and Deffo not still on sale. Not very good customer service!

That's got nothing to do with good customer service.

You wanting something cheaper and them not letting you, does not equal bad customer service.

    You're being a bad customer.

To complete the circle. If you had purchased an item and then received a request a week later asking for an additional £100 to reflect their increase in price, would you be happy to pay them the extra money?

Buy now at the reduced price and return the original order. A simple solution.
