The point is flying over your head. I don't know what I have to do until I receive the welcome letter in which the final steps are listed. Still no welcome letter arrived.

My point seems to have flown way above your head!!

When the accounts can be opened with as little as £1 why did you deposit significant funds and funds that you wanted access to prior to establishing that the account was fully opened and that money could be deposited and withdrawn easily without any restrictions? ? ?

I am fairly sure the inability to withdraw funds is made very clear during the online application process so waiting for the letter would be causing you little issue had you deposited £1 in each account rather than funds you wanted access to.

If they have confirmed identify electronically your welcome letter will just ask for signatures if they haven't managed to do that then there will be proof of identity requirements.

How do you know how much I deposited? How do you know what is in the welcome letter that is allegedly being sent to me although I don't have any evidence to support that it is being sent?

My posts are in fact about opening the account and not specifically about withdrawing funds. However I opened the instant access account to have ... er ... instant access. As it is at this time the funds are held and not released. By any stretch of the imagination it is not an instant access account.

I don't know how much you deposited but you seem to be getting very worked up about this - if you haven't deposited significant amounts and don't need access to the funds right now then what is the issue?

Come back and post the content of your welcome letter when it arrives and it will show I was correct!

What evidence would you like of the letter getting sent other than the point at which you receive it?

You seem to have ignored the part of the application process where it explains the requirements to be able to withdraw money - maybe next time you will pay more attention or do your research rather than getting upset when the things that they advised would happen, happen....

So if you don't know anything at all really then how is it you are commenting on it? Finally how do you know the application process I went through? Were you looking over my shoulder by any chance?

There was a part of the application which commented about ID documents which may need to be submitted in the event that ID cannot be electronically verified. But that information is allegedly listed in the welcome letter and I have no idea at this time what on earth they want because I haven't received it. Very strange though because in the last year alone TSB, Lloyds Bank and American Express bave verified my Identity electronically apparently with no problem whatsoever!

I know that you have had a total over reaction to the account opening process and the enabling of withdrawals - again when it is clear that withdrawals will be restricted why deposit anything more than £1 until it is all up and running and you have the instant access to the money?

The application process was not unique to you so no i wasn't looking over your shoulder but then I didn't need to be....

There may be no problem with the electronic verification of your ID in which case the only action from the welcome letter will be to provide a signature and return it for each account opened.

Sit tight wait for the welcome letter and all will be revealed.

Next time you open an account wait to have full access and operation before depositing money you might want access to - quite simple really - even for you!

Back to square one. How do you know that I deposited more than £1?

If you didn't deposit more than £1 then what is the problem?

    1) Wait for the letter
    2) Follow the instructions
    3) Gain full access to the account be able to withdraw funds

In that case you must be able to compare my posts, quoting and linking.

Yes I am able to; but I'm not going to. You wrote them, you should know what you wrote. If you have forgotten then you need to re-read them.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Yes but you are trying to dismiss Tesco as a bank based on your experiences of opening savings accounts with them despite the process you are going through is exactly the process that they described during the application.

Have you got your letter yet and what have they asked you to do?
