Hmm, when I go out for a run all I take is my back door key on a hair scrunchy that I loop round and tuck in my sports bra. The bigger problem would be if I collapsed as there'd be no ID, although I'm sure somebody would eventually recognise me!
Still, I'm disappointed with GreyQueen's number 5, so uncouth. In those circumstances I'd still need a teapot and loose tea. :-)
Edit:I'd definitely want my BP pills and HRT patches.:D0 -
Updating my little flash drive - I took the chance to delete very old or now inaccurate info, some of it, anyway. And updated my copy of my laptop bookmarks, while I'm at it
plus something I dislike doing, but I know its necessary - the document I wrote concerning several bits and bobs is now in Word, not Open Office. I'd have to use it at a library or something, and I couldn't guarantee a public computer would have the right software installed. Grrr. Thanks for the prompt on this, GQ, it was useful

Updating my little flash drive
One of those useful reminders to do something I haven't yet done, see also making a will, but just make me feel guilty..
Could you convert your documents to PDF as that makes them more readable.
I use Open Office but for the odd translation or language class worksheet I send in PDF, for which there's a tool in OO (File/Export as PDF).0 -
Oh! Yes, I could, as Open Office has that facility. I do that all the time for *other* things
:o:o thanks for that reminder! I could keep on using Open Office in that case! I'll do that next update - I'm just finishing off the larger of the flash drives (I use that one to update a backup for new documents, when I'm not ready to re-back up the whole computer).
Thanks silverwhistle2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Interesting, isn't is? Thank you for contributing, keep 'em coming.
I realised that if I get out with my handbag (which lives on the bedpost when not with me) I would have spare meds, my library card, ID, my prescription. My SOS pendant has contact details for NOK, my NHS number and my hospital number. It also holds my PAYG dumbphone which has one advantage over smart(er) phones - it sips its charge and recharges quickly. It's charger lives in my workbag so, if the worst comes to the worst, I have that with me during the workday.
I could get online at friends' places within 5 mins walk of home, via the library (6 mins' walk away) and via workplace outside my shift hours (with some restrictions, couldn't access my emails via the web on the workplace pooter).
I have a spare 35L rucksack and keep it in a crate buried in the depths of my shed. It contains a change of clothes inc a warm jacket, hat, gloves and a buff but is deficient in the footwear dept, although a pair of steel-toed DMs live permanantly in the lottie shed. Said ruckie also contains a bare-bones toiletry kit, and there are a few other bits and bobs in there which could be handy. If I have my handbag, I have the site padlock and shed keys.
I realised that I would need a receptacle for my newly-acquired belongings (large rolling suitcase/ holdall/ wally-trolley from a chazzer).Silverwhistle, I know, I know, teabags are the primrose path straight to hell, I do use loose tea at home, but one may have to compromise one's standards in an emergency.
thriftwizard, love the description of your work vehicle/ camper, very envious of that. Twocking Witless's wheels is still on my To Do list when the time comes, tho.;)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I am minded to let this matter rest, in view of the circumstances. Also I've just done a language lesson with an accompanying mug made in a pot with teabags, but only because I have been unable to source loose Darjeeling from my high street. Not in Waitrose, not in M&S, and it's all very worrying.
In the morning I have builders type tea and there's no problem sourcing that loose. There's sometimes a real need for stocking up and this would appear to be one of them. Not sure how long a kilo of darjeeling bought online is going to last though!0 -
Sketches out a Booths list forthwith, but having checked neither Asda nor Sainsbury have loose leaf, Morrisons do so not all is lost.
The horror of not having Proper Tea (and I'll skip the Marxist jokes)! Point taken about In view of the circumstances!
But then I was in a tea club that had one only drank decaf, one only the golder blends of instant, one Assam, one builders & several who enjoyed seeing what was on promotion. Our biscuit tin was a weapon of diplomacy (with people coming to meetings being asked what their preferred nibble was, it being laid in & negotiations proceeding with everyone properly cosseted) as well as an assortment of biscuits wrapped for delayed gratification - which meant at fire drills, we could target individuals for light bribery. Our security team learned fast that accommodating unexpected strangers meant not just happy cries of thanks and greeting in earshot of their management, but being persuaded to accept chocolate biscuits by the pocketful as we all shivered by the Mersey. It helped software testing as well - our volunteers were settled, brews brought, the tin left open beside them & as the time passed, they were gently unplugged, reminded to take something to sustain them later on, and tucked back at their proper desk visibly punctually. Their management got the thank you emails, the staff involved got both emails, brews & biscuits. We had little difficulty getting volunteers. Everyone happy!

My supermarket accounts.
My email details (actually, anything of your online life you don't have listed can be finagled, because you can change the password if you have your email up and running).
My financial details - current account, savings, pensions.
My medical details that are needed.
My insurance details! Essential!
Copies of my documents - passport, a bank statement, a water bill, a council tax statement.
Those are the distinctly prepperish ones - personally, I'd want my family photos, and my genealogical research.YMMV.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Another new duty for work. I've been put forward for Fire Marshall training. Which involves watching an interminably long online presentation and clicking a few questions before being issued with my very own HV vest. If I accept that, I've got good reason to persuade them to send me to a first aid course; it's always useful to have a refresher and I'm not financially in the position to pay to do it myself. (plus it's two days paid to be off work - always a bonus).
Anybody got their flu jab yet? We haven't and I'm getting twitchier the longer it goes on, as it's not just me to worry about now, but the FIL too - the odds on getting him to have one are so long as to wrap around the world three times and I refuse to be the vector (or Himself to be) that kills him and the rest of the rehabilitation ward off.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
