I had an omelette in Barcelona in a lovely crispy roll with ketchup for breakfast and only 8 euros, worth every cent too, was lovely!0

Snow has all but gone here.
Just a few small patches, on the grass verges and gardens.0 -
Snow gone from roads now but still thick in fields and hills and gardens.
We're wondering what we should do if anything happened to the stove or the chimney, we'd have no heating at all. Thinking of the Blue Flame calor heaters but worried the cat would get too near and set her tail on fire0 -
MAR we have a gas heater on wheels that is square (maybe 15 years old) and has 3 ceramic plates for the burner so you can have 1, 2 or all 3 on. It has a chrome grid over the ceramic plates and I've seen them running (in the shop we got ours from) with a clip on fire guard in front so the cat's tail would be safe. Ours is a DeLongi.0

prepping for the future move is ongoing, today a bit of car exploring, just 1/2 a mile in the other direction from the shop. Same lane, same bus but for some reason a cheaper area. I found side areas, nice quiet lanes and closes, nice houses and bungalows. Other area, with the viewed bungalow is more `twee` ie more `incomers` whilst locals seem to be in the cheaper area. There is nothing in the cheaper area to make it cheap, except some less grand houses on the main lane through. That gives me 3 areas so far, middle area has the shop/bus/hall/meeting place/doctors, area to the right has bus +1/2 mile away nice lane to walk, area to left has bus/hall +1/2 mile away and same lane. I am learning on my feet. Prepping is ongoing, only not for armageddon0

We've had a little snow overnight.
Not a huge amount, but it has stuck on the grass and the vehicles, and the temperature has dropped a bit.0 -
Snow didn't last long.
It's all melted already.0 -
Spring's going ahead full pace down here now! Daffs are out, frogs are back in the pond, and the plum trees are blossoming. I may even get my propagator fired up now...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

It's been so quiet, I was beginning to think everyone had deserted the thread.0

Happiness on this afternoons hound perambulation is in the form of a whole grassy verge covered in tiny deep purple real wild violets and celandines like mini suns. So pretty and so welcome after all the cold!0
