After all that I was overcome with the urge to check my lottery ticket
I've won £4.80:T:T:j:j:beer:
Ah well, it buys another dream next week and a bit left overIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
GQ, 'The Shock Doctrine' is by the brilliant Naomi Klein and is about how TPTB use national crises such as natural disasters, terrorist attacks, wars, financial crises etc to push through controversial policies whilst the population is distracted and afraid, ( what you said in your post)) I am currently reading her 2014 book, 'This changes everything' about climate change, which is pretty hard reading. Her latest book, 'No is not enough' is also worth a look. She is part of a group which published 'The Leap Manifesto', offering an arguments for system change. YouTube has quite a few of her talks and interviews. Interesting stuff!0

Lol Bob
I was looking at various websites/blogs about using as little single use plastic as possible. Someone recommended using a paste of rye flour and water instead of shampoo
Well I was making rye sourdough bread today - all I can say is if it's as hard to get out of your hair as it is off your hands, you won't need to worry about whether your hair is fit to be seen in public - because you won't be able to go out in public for days!!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Thanks for that, I shall check her out. I did read No Logo ages ago, but it's time to revisit it, I think.
Wasn't there some vile (female) British political player whose email suggesting that they use the cover of 9/11 to put out some unfavourable news was widely reported? Made me wonder if that person had checked in their humanity at the gates of the palace of Westminster.:mad:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I think she was a SPAD rather than an actual politician. (Though she would probably have been parachuted into a safe seat at some stage). She would have produced a dodgy dossier a day without breaking sweatIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Quick google, Jo Moores was a SPAD to Stephen Byers, transport secretary in Tony Blair's govt. After she was forced out by the scandal she retrained as a teacher and is now a classroom assistantIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

That's a very interesting read Mar, thanks for flagging it up, maybe we're not the only odd and alternative thinkers in the UK then?0
