Hi FUDS the other place I get my sheepskin slippers from is 'LAMBLAND' a company down in Devon, good sturdy moccasins from them with a hard sole for under £20. Website is 'www.lambland.co.uk' I found them first on E.Bay and they give a code for a 10% discount to regular customers so even more affordable with that. Worth a look as they're good quality products.0

I bought a pair of sheepskin slippers with a hard sole from a shop in Lynton when we were on holiday there in the summer. They are very warm and well worth the money. I got a pair of sheepskin insoles from the same shop.0

A discovery this morning, I've just found I fit into a pair of Craghopper lined trousers donated by DD1 as she lost weight and I had never before realised how warm they would be. DD1 and He Who Knows have used them for years in colder weather and always said how effective they are so I'm off for a ramble with a friend and dog this morning in the country beside a river and I'll see how they function keeping me warm under those circumstances. Certainly keeping me cosy in an unheated room here at the moment. Might be something to consider as part of prepping, certainly for power outs that leave you with no heating.0

They sound great Lyn! I think I could do with a pair tomorrow as BG are coming to put smartmeters in so the heating will be off for a while. I'd get OH to take me to DD1's for the duration if we had something more exact than "between 1.00 and 5.00 in the afternoon", but as it is I shall snuggle in bed while it's going on.0

I don't think there's any need to go to bed, is there?
The gas/elec should only be off for about ten minutes at most.0 -
I was toasty warm on the walk this morning, the trousers really did keep me nice and warm have changed into jeans to walk Cookie this afternoon and I can feel a real difference. I'm going to buy a couple more pairs of the Craghoppers from one of the outlet shops when I go to see DD1 as they will be cheaper than going to an outdoors shop. Very good product in my opinion and worth the outlay.0

Really happy with my spends in aldi today, only £35.42. Just a couple of bits to get later in week but should not be much.
I've been reading the 'eating out of freezer and cupboard' thread and been really inspired to start sorting through my cupboards and freezer. List of everything in my freezer done this morning, made a menu plan for the week....sorted

Really? That's cheering news :j BG said "Up to an hour for each meter" so we'd assumed they meant about an hour!
I'll probably go to bed for a while anyway though, as I've only just had an operation and am supposed to be resting more than usual.0 -
I have just perused the website you speak of Lyn. Oh my. Oh my. I have two pairs of slipper from Christmas so I will have to wear them out but it won't take long because they're from Primark. I too have to have a sole purely for wandering to the bin outdoors. Can you remind me of the other place you used to get your sheepskin slippers from?
My last pair of Primark slippers lasted 2yrs0
