Sat 9th/Sun 10th - what small DFW things will you do this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Happy weekend frugal ones :hello:
Lovely not to be at work. Shame it's raining, oh well. Meant to brighten up later.
My list for today:
Item of clothing had run overnight in washing machine, so I need to sort that out.
Hang washing inside on airer
Check banking, surveys, FPL
List some stuff for sale
Tea we didn't have last night for today
Lunch from cupboards
Freeze some jackets I cooked yesterday as they were on the way out and oven was on anyway
Make a cake/biscuits
DD to various pre paid activities
Walking to friends this afternoon , children can play. We can natter. Good for the soul.
Use blueberries and banana that have Sen better days in a smoothie
Think that's about all, enjoy your day folks. PF.0 -

Its hard to find something that occupies a 7 & 10yr old boys and a 12yr old girl when the weather isn't very good.
Have them make pizza from scratch or non-alcoholic cocktails.
Foot volleyball: Blow up a balloon, improvise a net. Sit on floor. Play volleyball with their feet only.

Hi July Joculants,
Thanks for the starter PF. I woke up at work time, on my day off.
I don't have time to read everyone's posts but much love to everyone.
Not sure what we'll be doing: DW has recovered from her unintentional gymnastic stunt but now has a horrendous eye infection. She might not feel like doing anything. May spend rail ticket refund voucher and go get a free tour of Paisley Observatory. Won't be going anywhere today. DW has eyes like a panda-shaped balloon and is confined to the sofa.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Unsubscribed from a few junk emails.
* Did RM Surveys.
* Drive to next town and get the latest batch of eye medication. Phone ahead to make sure it's in stock. By some miracle our ultra-wee village pharmacy had the drops in stock, and just £1.20. Happy with that.
* Checked online banking.
* Added to Australia Fund.
* Alarm clock off at the wall til tonight.
* Hold a sock reunion event. We seem to have two strays. Will have a hunt. Also found a missing earbud from my favourite headphones.
* Listen to free podcasts on the BBC iPlayer. I like retro sitcoms: The Likely Lads, Steptoe and Sons and the like.
* Check all Loyalty Points.
* Washed out Ikea re-sealable bags which we use in the freezer. They can be re-used and last ages. (Link)
* Sell Stamps on eBay, again. Hate eBay, but it works.
* Go freezer diving. It's a bl**dy mess in there. Needs investigating and sorting out. We're not very good at keeping an inventory. Great Blue Smurf, that was a disaster zone. Took me 30 mins to sort through it. We have one of everything. You could open Dowd Towers as a branch of Iceland. So it'll be thin steak sandwiches for lunch, we had a random grill up for breakfast and we'll have curried "random stuff" for dinner with an assortment of bhajis, duck rolls etc. Local supermarket has had a lot of yellow-stickered minute steaks recently. And, again, we have six naan breads in there. They can become pizzas as recommended by (I think it was) La E.
* Cleaned upstairs with Stardrops and washable cloths. DW has fallen asleep on the sofa so I can't continue til she's awake. That's my excuse. Managed to get it all done. Topped up Stardrops bottle with more diluted solution.
* £10 gift voucher I won from RM Surveys arrived.
* Homemade fancy coffee with condensed milk.
How about you folks?

Thank Ally
Welcome.
Build an indoor crazy golf course with household objects, wrapping paper tubes for clubs and screwed up ball of paper for a ball.
Put on a play or a comedy sketch.

Morning. Not upright yet, making the most of the fact that my gym class has been cancelled. LM I confess that I might be tempted to organise a movie afternoon for the boys or find somewhere under cover to go!
Lots to do today. Lots of laundry too and the forecast is dreadful, might have to put the heated airer on. I bought an airer that goes over a door which is fab and was less than a fiver so might get that out too.
Right, going to move. Oh need to make a shopping list for Lidl too.0 -
Morning all,
Thanks for starting us off PF.
Sadly it is chucking it down here as well so I won't get outside to do the garden or wash my car today.
June has been a horrendous month for us financially as we have been so busy, time to reign it in & get back on track savings wise! So with that in mind, today I have/will:-- All meals from stores
- Create a meal plan for the following week & from this a shopping list
- Go to Mr T's instead of Sainsbugs as they have sent us an £8 off £40 spend coupon which should save us money, stick to list
- Check online banking & pay off credit card in full
- Washing on eco setting using less than the recommended dose of washing liquid
- Hang up to dry
- Lots of cleaning & tidying round to do today
- Check free postcode lottery
- Enter some competitions & check for any useful freebies
- Make a spreadsheet showing what we still need for Moomin with prices so we can double check we are on track
- If I get time, go through some bits & see what can be sold to raise some extra money
:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57 :eek:

It rains all the time here. I usually soap the car and then leave the rain to wash it off! :rotfl:Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
