Evening all,
Congratulations Jackie O...you are one tough cookie!
Windy here to-day, no rain and its not really cold, sun has been out from time to time which is nice to see.
DD1 found some eggs which were a little out of date and made a huge lemon drizzle cake which she divided in 3....one third for us and a third each for DS3 and DD4...she has now gone to babysit for DD4 so that she and her fianc! can go out for a meal. I am very happy to have DD1's company at home, but she is really doing too much in my opinion....I don't want her to feel that OH and I need looking after and that it is her job to do it....does anybody else know what I mean?? She is 45 and hasn't had a boyfriend in ages, I would like to see her happy with someone....is this paranoia??
The garden is more like a jungle than anything else, so I am getting somebody in to clear it so that we can manage to keep it ourselves, OH doesn't seem to have the energy to do very much and our total production this year is some rhubarb, gooseberries, 6 courgettes and a few heads of lettuce!
Speky, glad to hear your girlfriend's news,
Elona, good luck with your garden
Hilstep....take care of you.
Take care of yourselves and have a happy weekend.

Thanks dumpling I will give it a go,blooming transfers are a devil to remove .
Just sitting, chilling with my trotters upI've been nattering to my oldest friend as her DD has now settled into her new house where she hopes to stay for the next 20+ years at least
Her DD has twins, which she had by IVF and had to move as her old house was too small, they are three in September so she wanted to get them settled before starting nursery school next year.I'm really pleased for her as she managed to get exactly the house she wanted after several had fallen through at the last minute.
Right, I'm off to finish my drink then probably have a read before bed
Good night, God Bless all here

Just popping in from my lovely Orkney hotel. My room has a view straight out to the harbour and is very comfortable.
JackieO - well done on your efforts. I donated to my friends' 'pink run' last weekend, my father died from pancreatic cancer so understand the need for research.
Meanmarie - is your daughter not happy being single? So many people I know are miserable in their relationships and others are really happy without a significant other. Different strokes and all that!
Speky - I'm thrilled for your GF, it's a huge weight off her shoulders and a great relief for you too.
My evening meal was splendid, steak and ale pie, washed down with a wee dram of Highland Park. (hic). We're out at 9.30 tomorrow morning with a full programme of places to visit. Gore-tex at the ready.

Speky - great news about your GF0 -
Well done JackieO, yes I am having yet another I can't sleep night
Had a lovely day at the zoo, it stayed dry but grey with a few sunny intervals and I even braved the butterfly house which was great, saw the baby dwarf crocodiles and the butterflies were such beautiful colours, saw the new baby elephant Elizabeth, she is only three weeks old..... bless her who decided that she was going to have a nap and just rolled on her side and went to sleep. DH got an awesome photo of one of the Tigers standing up at the fence, that is when you see just how big they truly are.
Talking about he who must be ignored, he has just shouted down for me to go to bed, I might go and try now, and see what happens.
Off to the outlaws tomorrow and I have lots of housework to do, but that lot can help me out.............
