Morning all,
Bit overcast here but looks brighter over yonder so it will hopefully get better.
Went out last night for a work colleagues 21st, was an ok evening but we went to an overpriced restaurant which charged over £6 for a glass of wine  Everyone else also went home by 10 so it was just dd and I left waiting for our train for 1/2 hour so we waited in the pubso a lot of money was spent on a really average evening.
Need to have a good tidy through today but OH and dd will help, we also need to pop to the shops to get some dog food, she seems to only like one type so will get a stock in.
WM is doing its thing and I will hang it out after.
Good luck to JackieO today xx
Hilstep poor you, rest up for a while xx0 -
Morning everyone!
Seems like forever since I've posted (its a good couple of years!).
yesterday was my birthday, but as we all had work, we're having a bit of a get together today. Nothing formal, just an open house with cake and tea.
I really do need to do next week's meal planner (I start on a Monday as it's my day off!) and look back through threads for some new ideas.
Was going to potter around the garden but the heavens have opened here and its a washout, so laundry is on the lakeland heated airer, and I have a few crafty bits I have been meaning to finish.
Hope everyone has a good day!0 -
Good luck Jackie

My steam cleaner is still in its box!!!!:o
The back garden looks like a festival - a sea of mud!!!! I am hoping that by the end of next week it will be sorted out and a pleasant place to sit.
I have managed to find my slow cooker and plan to try it to make cola chicken tonight ready for tomorrow. That way it can be eaten hot or cold, with salad, veg, low fat chips etc depending on the weather. DDs and Sil are over for lunch tomorrow.
Middle dd is coming over around lunch time and I am planning a low fat crustless quiche so need to put the oven on fairly soon. The veg one I made for slimming club on Wednesday evening seemed popular so hope this one is as good.
Dishwasher is on and will do a very quick tidy before dd arrives.
Hugs to all especially Hilstep, hester, csarina and BB

Hi everyone
I hope you don't mind me joining in - I have joined in in the past but have been missing in action for AGES!
My father is currently in hospital so I am doing hospital visiting etc as well as work and all the usual. This means I need to be VERY organised and do meal planning etc. In addition I am also attempting to lose weight and save money!
I taken the plunge and created an account to get my groceries delivered. I know I have to pay delivery but I really think it will help me to meal plan and hopefully save some money - plus I save the time on having to go shopping.
I am a list person so I have created various lists of the chores I need to do and how I can fit them into my week.
I am picking up lots of tips on here from you all on how to manage the household and also some tasty meal ideas - I like the sound of the cola chicken!
I have done 2 x loads of washing and cleaned the kitchen. I am off to hoover the lounge and then have some lunch and put the dishwasher on before I go out.
Hopefully I can set aside some time later to have a good read on here so that I can have a good read on here.0 -
Good ,uck today JACKIE , N fab news SPEKY :j

SPEKY that really is wonderful news. What a relief for you all.
Mr TA and DS finally tackled a job that's needed doing for a while. A hinge on the garage door had broken (rusted away) and needed replacing. No easy job getting the old one off as the screws were well rusted in and painted on and they had to get an angle grinder on the job to remove it! A small job ended up a big one before the new hinge could go on! All done now but the doors themselves badly need painting so that's the next job.
Have a nice evening folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Evening all.
Jackie O hope you got on ok and that the weather was on your side.
Dumpling my son did that last year . It was a bit of a pain as the residential ran Mon to Fri and we were on holiday for 10 days so two separate lots of stuff as week one activity based and week 2 at a local uni. Plus stuff for weekends at his name. Looks good on UCAS forms rec.
Quiet here. Daughter at camp in Essex. The aim is to stay awake from 9 am today till 9am tomorrow. Lots of fun activities. She was hyper before she went as she'd stood in for people at schools sports day. Her leader met her on the main road .Son went to see a friend in Milton Keynes which means he needs collecting from train station at 10.
Daughter has got sunshine and we 've got rain off and on. Today was Club Day a tradition over 200 years old where churches walk round town along with youth groups like Brownies after a short service of praise in the market place.
Hugs to those who want/ need them0 -
Speky that's absolutely the best news ever, I am so pleased for you I shall raise my G&T to you both tonight.
Well we did it and raised a good amount of cash for the fund so apart from very sore trotters, all is well in my world. I took DD,son-in-law and three boys out to lunch as a treat for us all. and it was delicious in a little country pub locally.Still trying to remove my tattoos from my arm that you wear during the race. Had a nice shower, and a bit of a scrub but the blessed things won't shift never mind they will wear off eventually I expect.I am supposed to be making 5 dozen sausage rolls for tomorrow afternoons birthday bash for my eldest DDs OH as its his 50th birthday, but I think I will make them in the morning .Tonight its feet up and a large G&T.
My smashing DGS Ben who is up in Norwich earning extra cash towards his August student house rent did a lovely thing for his Mum. We got back from Maidstone after the race and there was a lovely bunch of flowers waiting for her on the step he had sent as a 'good luck for the race ' present
I am so proud of him he is such a nice lad and to fork out the cash just to treat his Mum I thought was lovely He had already donated to the fund before he went back last week bless him.DGS Jack came round on the race with us and borrowed his Mums tutu and sunglasses and everyone cheered him on bless him He was rattling his bucket to anyone who smiled at him:):) She has done such a brilliant job with her boys they are all cracking lads and I am sure my late OH would be chuffed to bits to see what nice lads they all are, but then I am a bit biased I guess
:):)
Right time for a glass of Gordon's and a tonic and ice and slice .
Hope Andy Murray does well tomorrow I watch his match last night and he is pretty darned good
Cheers everyone

Good evening everyone
Just popping on to say "Well Done" to JackieO and baby oil on a bit of cotton wool is fantastic at getting tattoos off, it's what I use on my grandchildren before they go back to school. I guess any oil would do the trick thinking about itxx
