Galaxy TAB 4 battery

My, approaching 2 year old, tablet appears to have a dying battery
It goes from 30% to 0% in less than 5 minutes - and when charging, goes from 20% to 40% in a flash - then takes 4 hours to go to 70% - where it sits for another couple of hours
It lasts around 2 hours from 100%...
Is this covered under its 2 year warranty ?

Without the battery - the damned thing is useless - so how do they get around the law ?
Is it counted as an accessory or something ?

Its a consumable .
The Samsung 2 year warranty is a strictly limited warranty.

You can of course try the SOGA route .

You could always go on to the manufacturer site and check out what they say.

My car battery has a 5 year warranty but that has no relevance to phone battery either

How can a vital part be a "consumable" ?

Due to the fact that it consumes at a different rate depending upon usage.
My printer ink is a vital component also but it runs out.But like a battery it can be replaced.

Most batteries are replaceable if you are willing to look

Batteries are not USER user replaceable.
Doing it myself would void the warranty

I would ask Samsung .
