How long is reasonable for a post tenancy inspection?

We moved out of our rental property on June 29th so it's been 9 days. We confirmed to the agent that we would need to lose some deposit for a carpet which my daughter stained with hair dye and they said they'd confirm it all with us once they'd inspected the property. They didn't do a check out visit we had to take the…

Hi sorry to ask more questions but we completed the joint repayment request initially because we were happy to deduct some money for the carpet. Do we now switch that to a single claim? I've heard nothing from the agent since i replied to his list outlining the delays and why we would dispute any other deductions. He replied and said there landlord will have quotes shortly and he will come back to me but that was three days ago. It's now 16 days since our tenancy ended and we have no idea how much of our deposit they want from us but I'm sure they're supposed to confirm that and return any undisputed money within 10 working days !
