    Photogenic Debt-free and Proud!
    Good morning,

Hard days work yesterday followed by a chilled and early night. Sleeping for 10pm! My colleague let me borrow her book, The Secret, as I’ve heard lots about it. Only 30 pages in and I’m trying to get my head round it and have a more positive attitude which is difficult for a natural pessimist like me.

I’m working tomorrow, so today doesn’t feel like Friday. Hopefully a nice (cheap) meal tonight may perk me up a bit. Does Andy Murray play today? I’ll be keeping one eye on Wimbledon while at work too.

Gers - Enjoy the trip and safe travels.
TA - My goodness that dinner sound right up my street!
Lainey - Enjoy the races and good luck with your bets.
Tru - Great to hear about Scampi not barking. You'll be glad.

Have a tremendous day everyone :)

    Good morning everyone

It's very overcast here but already very warm. Everyone has gone off to work/school except for me and DD16. I was checking through her kit list for the NCS when it dawned on me that she didn't have a suitcase big enough. Fortunately Argos had a load so I bought one online and it was delivered a couple of hours later. She now has a week to get organized, get all her washing up to date and pack. I can guarantee she will be rushing around last minute to get sorted though.

I am annoyed with myself as I made a payment off my credit card only to find that I had paid it early so last month's statement has two payments on it now and I still have to find this month's money. It's my own fault for being so keen to get it paid :).

I had a lovely surprise yesterday when my best friend in the whole world rang me to say she was coming over for a cup of tea. When she arrived with her baby grandson she told me she had moved to the next village :D:D:D. She is on regular babysitting duties so she wanted to come and see me every week. I am so happy as I haven't seen her for months and I really missed her. Her grandson is gorgeous too, he looks like an elf as his ears are slightly pointy and he has a mop of curls.

Well, I wanted to wish JackieO the best of luck for tomorrow. I hope the weather is kind and your feet don't get too sore.
Lainey, enjoy your day at the races and win lots of money :rotfl:.
Gers, I hope you have a lovely relaxing holiday.

I hope you all have a great weekend and manage to enjoy yourself whatever you are up to, take care xx
  • Good \Morning everyone, my Zebra child is coming to stay this weekend, his parents and not yet hatched Pingu are coming too of course. We still have some strawberries on the plot and there are ripe tomatoes in the greenhouse, he so enjoyed picking his breakfast last summer, I'm going to let him try a loganberry too they're sot very sweet but he likes all fruit, so lovely!!

Going to top and tail the house, I will shop for fresh things today and I did all the cooking yesterday so all I have to do in the kitchen today is make Bolognese sauce for their supper tonight and Zebras supper tomorrow, less frantic than normal before a visit which can really only be GOOD!

He Who Knows is going to the allotment, there is very bad potato blight there affecting all the plots and he's already dug out the new ones, we have maincrops still in and he's going to dig a root of each veriety and if they are worth harvesting he will but if not we'll have to dig them out and clear the patch. I hope they're worth digging!

Have yourselves a lovely day everyone, Lyn xxx.

    Hi guys.
Back in hospital. Went to go for a wee. Had a fall. Huge black and blue knees. Was convinced that I had broken my kneecap. Hadn't but bed rest now because it's so painful. They are trying to find me a hospice bed now

Grey and dank here this morning :(. DH went for his interview but it had been cancelled because an applicant has got to get there from Bulgaria  How can he apply for a school job here when he cannot be properly CRB checked is beyond me . Any how it is now on Wednesday.

Got all the washing done yesterday including the bedding. After that my knee gave way and I had trouble doing anything else apart from making a salad and some gammon steaks and mushrooms.

It gets so frustrating sometimes, but they won't do my knees until my spine has been done, today once again my fingers are numb, just like dead weights dangling from my arms :(...... Thankfully I see the surgeon again on 23rd August when he will give me the results of the MRI Then on 25th August I see the knee surgeon and will be able to give him some sort of news, That week is going to be busy, because it is DD's Birthday on 21st as well, she will be 27  where did those years go?

tru that is great news about scampi :T

JackieO Good luck for tomorrow x

TA glad you had a stress free appointment yesterday

Going to pop down town in a minute so BFN x

    Morning all

    Rest up hilstep x

I've had a busy few days with lunches and maternity appointments so I'm having a lazy-ish day today.

WM has been on and I'm about to put it out and hope there is no rain. I've hoovered downstairs (I'm too pregnant now to carry it upstairs so I'll have to wait for OH to come home and take it upstairs!). I want to get on with my cross stitching and maybe start the cushions for the nursing chair, this means learning how to use the sewing machine my mum has lent me!

My nan passes away in Feb and yesterday my parents gave me a small sum of money from her estate so I need to decide what to do with that. If I wasn't pregnant I'd book a holiday! But sensible me says to save it for when we may be short over next few months due to maternity pay. We could do with a new bed though so may spend half and save half.

Have a good day all x

Much love Hilstep. Will you be able to keep in touch with us whilst in the hospice?

I admire your strength and your spirit.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.
