Usage of a premium rate 0843 number for cancellations is a clear breach of Regulation 41 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, effective 13 June 2014.
Anyone who has taken out this offer is advised that Regulation 41(2) gives them the right to a refund of any excess call costs incurred, over and above whatever an equivalent call to an 01, 02 or 03 number would have cost.
Publishing an 0843 number without declaring the applicable Service Charge in close proximity to the number, is a clear beach of Ofcom regulations binding 'non-providers', effective 1 July 2015.
What processes will be put in place in future to ensure that vendors offering deals through MSE are complying with all applicable consumer laws and regulations?

Good to see that new deals promoted on that page now promote an 0343 number.
Calls to 03 numbers are inclusive on landlines and mobiles, else charged at 'geographic rate' - the same as calling 01 and 02 numbers.
The premium rate 0843 number is still mentioned in the 'expired deals' section. Call the new 0343 number instead.0 -
Thanks for this, we've sent it over to our Deals Team.
They'll take a look and decide whether they need to change the expired deal.

They do need to change it. The regulations apply to all sales made after 13 June 2014.0
