Hi Everyone
I'd like some advice please. I agreed a contract for new windows and doors some months ago. Around £13K worth of work. The job started in April and was nothing but trouble. I was told it would be completed in 4 days. It was finally finished last week after about 10 call backs - all of which I had to make time for. And 2 from the supervisor who wasn't happy with the standard of work and there is still a compromise around one of the doors. It was a local firm who have a good reputation but things just went wrong. I got the final bill in today and was thinking I should ask them to reconsider their bill and to offer me some form of compensation for my time and for a bit of goodwill for all the stress. I thought I should write to the MD and see what reaction I got. Am I being mean in thinking they should make some form a gesture? I'd appreciate some opinions.

If it was as bad as you say then why not ask? I'd try to have a firm, realistic idea of what you want, say X% or £Y.0

Are you willing to name the company? You may then get feedback and find they are not as wonderful as one imagines.
I know of a couple of companies operating in your area, so I may be able to chip something in. Over to you here.0
