    just a thought ...
is he under 35 and living in a privately rented 1 bed property?

if he is then the SDP needs to be in payment for him to qualify for the 1 bed rate rather than the shared accommodation rate

If you read previous posts then you will see that is exactly what has happened. The Op had to stop her CA so son could get HB for a one bed rather than shared accommodation.

and it was also suggested that as the OP gave up £62 per week for son to get and additional £62 SDP plus the increased housing benefit, he may choose to pass the SDP over to mother so she is no worse off and he gets his rent covered

To get CA, you should be providing 35 hours of care, OP says she can only provide 8 hours, so wouldn't be eligible for CA anyway (or at least not honestly).

    the OP says 8+ hours.

i suggest that the reason she said 8+, was that for wtc purposes she would need 16 hours and as she does 8 hours of ironing, she needed to show at least another 8 to qualify.

you never cease to get pleasure from making other people look like scroungers do you?

I don't think that many people would take 8+ hours to mean 35.

the question wasn't about carers allowance eligibility though.
it was about WTC and the OP was looking to evidennce 16 hours of work a week

My post wasn't in response to OP's but to Mojisola's who suggested OP claimed CA despite her saying clearly that she couldn't possibly do more than what she currently does.

What never ceases to amaze me is how people seem to forget that they are conditions attached to claiming CA. Just because it is never checked doesn't mean they don't exist.

and it never ceases to amaze me that you come on a board for BENEFITS ADVICE and do nothing but criticise and belittle people that are trying to find out if they are entitled to anything or not.

really don't know what you get out of it

I DID provide advice. Someone mentioned CA when CA is not applicable to OP's circumstances. Where did I critisise let alone belittled OP?

There was no need for your response.
