Northern rock said I did have PPi through Aviva , but had to contact the the Broker who no longer trades.
Northern Rock would not have a clue what insurances, if any, were arranged by a financial adviser/broker. Adviser/brokers are not required or even allowed to tell the lender what insurances you have (data protection) unless it is a condition of borrowing. Such as life assurance policies upto the late 90s.
i suspect you are mixing up info or the person you spoke to gave wrong info. Aviva, for example, was the insurer NR used back in the 90s. Or maybe it is the life assurance policy that was with Aviva.
Either way it doesnt matter as its over 10 years before regulation.I tried via fscs but as it was pre 2005 I cannot submit a claim , ?
Correct. However, the good news is that you were almost certainly not missold as an FA/mortgage broker was used.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
