Yorkshire Bank disaster.

No evidence of 'wrong doing' is required - if your transaction meets the reporting requirements then the bank is simply fulfilling its legal obligations.
As to the Netherlands, there are known and long standing links to the drug trade - which may also add to the risk scoring.
( link removed because of forum rules )
The NCA website also has extensive guidance regarding anti-money laundering trade requirements.
Stop being a drama queen and get 'educated' on the legal requirements - then you'll understand it isn't personal.
Partially correct - the bank does have obligations, but it is not obliged to block accounts whenever an international transfer is made. That is completely ridiculous.
Then you post a link re drugs and Holland. I could post a similar link regarding organised crime for just about every major nation in the world. Your point is nonsense. Millions of pounds of international transactions are conducted with the Dutch banks every single day.
The fact is that the Yorkshire Bank have my money, and they have done nothing to justify their actions. Bizarrely you think me being !!!!ed off about that is somehow unusual and grounds for hurling insults. I suggest that you should try being in my shoes, then you might learn to be less of a self righteous buffoon.0 -
avoid these idiots like the plague. Until I learn otherwise the Yorkshire Bank have stolen my money.you believe it is my fault for having money, and that I should take greater care on how I explain the situation when posting on forums.
Do you have anything else to add ?This is a cheap scam under the guise of regulation, Yorkshire Bank are not fit to hold a license. The great unwashed may have voted to leave the EU,you might learn to be less of a self righteous buffoon.
I wonder if this is the way that the OP approached the Yorkshire Bank?
The OP's annoyance at not being able to withdraw his money is understandable.
However, he says that he is familiar with money laundering regulations etc.
As must have been reported many, many times on this forum, even faster payments on well used current accounts have been delayed for checking.
The OP chose to request a foreign business contact to pay a relatively large sum into his little used savings account - as I said in my first post, I am surprised that this was not queried at the time.
At the least he might have rung YB to advise them of the expected payment.0 -
Are you prepared to name the dutch company? The crowd here might be able to dig up any public concerns.
I think you've had a rough ride here too, but you've not helped the situation with your reaction. It sounds like you've in good faith done work for a company that a bank feels is not on the straight and narrow, and you are receiving no assistance from either the bank or the posters on the thread as to what you should do.
What is the process the OP should follow? I imagine the first step is to write to the bank. What's the next step and when should it be taken?0 -
the majority of posters on here are in serious need of some common sense and appreciation of the situation for the OP.
Surely common sense has been shown by other posters and some common sense approaches to the problem suggested?
The OP's frustration is understandable, his throwing around of insults is not.0 -

The OP's frustration is understandable, his throwing around of insults is not.
So I have to endure insults (drama queen) but not return them ?
I have to lose a considerable amount of money and take it like a man ?
The only common sense approach that has been suggested was to provide evidence to prove my case. As I have repeatedly stated I am more than happy to do that when I am given the opportunity.
In the meantime I should suck it up right ?0 -

Post 12, 13, 14, 17?
The OP could take a letter into his branch explaining his concerns and enclosing documentary evidence ( fee invoice etc) of the source of the funds?
The letter and evidence could be faxed to the relevant department of Yorkshire bank?0 -

I edited it at that time to add from "The OP's annoyance" and a little later to add another example of the OP's immoderate language vizThis is a cheap scam under the guise of regulation, Yorkshire Bank are not fit to hold a license.0 -
Yes, he could but in these instances we must never forget that the OP is the lay person in these situations and it is guidance / communication from the professional body (bank) which should guide this process and any activity which follows.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
