Reclaiming Additional PPI

Hi,
I hope you can help, I have claimed back PPI through a claims company last year and now they have sent me a letter to say I might have additional amounts of money to claim back as a "top up" to my previous claims - Due to new legislation?? Has had anyone else had similar letters? should I proceed :question::question:Cheers Gav

All the cases I have heard of where additional redress of PPI has been paid have been as a result of mis-handling of complaints. In these instances, identified by the regulator, customers have been advised directly by their bank. No claim company intervention is ever necessary (the complaint process is simple and free), but especially so here.0 -

Indeed, the Claims Regulator has made quite clear that they have no right to a share of additional redress because the contract has ended.
They are simply trying to get you to sign an additional contract so they get a share of the extra money despite not doing their job properly in the first place.0 -

There is no new legislation.
Some lenders have been told to go back on old rejected complaints and review them (this includes complaints with comparative redress). This is automatic and does not require any input from you (or a claims company). if the lender pays out more redress, the claims company is not entitled to anything against that money.
However, if you sign something with the claims company then they can say the extra payment is due to them and will bill you for it. So, this is just an opportunistic attempt to get money out of you should you get an automatic review and receive more money from the bank.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
