I'm very happy with mine, it's a good choice (I bought mine from Scan for £21.52)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

good old amazon...as clear as MUD !!!
ta , creeps off in shame
Don't worry about it, notice in the specs/description it also says it has 4 USB ports even though it clearly has 7 in both the product name and the photo."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Make sure it is USB 2.0
Make sure it has a mains adapater, as "bus powered" hubs can't power many USB items which need power.
Other than that, they are all much of a muchness! Some offer full speed through each port (the Belkin one mentioned earlier), some slow down all ports, if one port has a slow device attached.
Try amazon, dabs, and eBay (but only for new eBay items not used!)0 -

After looking at the reviews and reading elsewhere, it seems that if you mix any number of USB 2.0 with any number of USB 1.0/ 1.1 then this will slow down the speed overall, although it will work, just not as fast.
Bit of a pain really.0 -

It's currently £22.50 at Scan which is still cheaper than Amazon (and I think anywhere else), depending on whether you can get free postage at Scan or not. If you get free postage then obviously get it from Scan but if you don't Scan postage is quite expensive (something like £7) and so won't be worth it."She is quite the oddball. EBuyer for about £5
or Poundland for guess how much ?
Both quite acceptable.0 -
whooa, £25+ for a USB hub? ok so it's mains powered and hence would be suitable for charging phones and ipods and stuff, but what about standard USB use?
I'd need it for:
1) Cordless Optical Mouse
2) Webcam
3) Laptop-cooling fan (I connect this directly to one of the laptop usb ports)
4) External hard drive (has its own power supply)
5) Bluetooth dongle
6) Gamepad
I think that's about it. Of coutse I'd rarely be running all these items at the same time (perhaps sometimes but not all the time), so would you still recommend the D-Link DUB-H7 7 - Port USB 2.0 Hub External ?
or would a standard USB hub suffice (not own power supply but IS USB2.0 compatible).
Of course I don't mind getting the above one if its neccessary, but i was surprised at the price thats all!
thanks for your input! :T
