Danske Bank Cash ISA

Hi
Am located in London and do not plan to travel to Northern Ireland anytime soon.
Called Danske Bank to try and open a cash ISA and transfer £33k from my existing Santander 123 E-ISA to benefit from the higher interest rate. However, they claim I need to do it in-branch and their branches are only in N.Ireland.
Has anybody opened a cash ISA with Danske Bank remotely? Is there any way one can actually do so please?

Their UK retail operation is really only in Northern Ireland where they took over the old Northern Bank a few years ok. You can in theory open an account by phone from anywhere in the UK but you can - as they say - only do an ISA transfer via one of their branches in NI.
As you need to have £30k invested to get their 1.6% rate - rather than the 0.4% for lower balances - you have no option but to take a trip to NI as the limit for in year Cash isa investments is half that.
