Hypothetically, if anyone could tell me what a good amount to offer would be

As far as I'm aware (and I've been on this forum daily for over 3.5 years) there is no example to draw on. Almost everyone who comes here is looking to offer zilch! If you are going to make an offer then try them out at what you want to pay - but no one here is recommending that course of action. More water to go under the bridge before that is an option.
And does the format and content of their LBCCC matter? I read a thread about LBCCC fightback which looks to be from a couple years go

In an ideal world, yes, but while it has been tested during the period since the LBCCC thread - there's no evidence of any Judge getting over-excited about it.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Thanks Umkomaas.

As everyone says though, Small Claims Court is to some extent a lottery and will depend on the evidence I put forward and the judge on the day. I expect it will require a lot of effort from me and time and even then, I could still end up paying a large amount.

The only reason I'd pay an WP offer is to avoid the hassle and time of court and the gamble of winning or losing in court.

I could offer £300 (example, I have no idea if that's too high or low?) to settle it out of court or go through the hassle of preparing evidence in order to have say a 30% chance of paying very little or a 70% chance of still paying in excess of £500.

The numbers are just examples but that's my gist. I get that it's not the correct way of looking at it as everyone should be standing up to these crooks as you all do so valiantly for which I am very grateful.

Do as coupon-mad says above. UKPC will not accept a lower offer as they think they can win ? BUT CAN THEY ?
Yes it all depends on the judge, it is clear that there are some judges who fail to see the huge scam operated by UKPC.
UKPC don't know either if they will win or lose.
Your job now is to create as much evidence to present to the judge.
There are others on here who may provide help at this stage.

Do not give in to the UKPC scammers

Jackie, I have NEVER seen UKPC take an offer but they've only been suing people for a few months. Try it if you like, no harm done.

Hi Jackie. I don't know if this is good advice or not, I'm not an expert like the posters above I'm just another poor sap who's been targeted by the ppc scammers... but in defending my case I contacted bmpa and this is a paragraph from their reply:

" Some of our colleagues have set up a company called Private Parking Appeals Ltd and they will handle this for you for a small fee. You can email them at info@privateparkingappeals.co.uk; or you can give them the details on their website"

As I said I don't know if this is a good option as I don't know anything about them (I'm doing my own defence), but, if you're not able to do your own defence its got to be worth a look before coughing up c.£900 - I think their fee is £19.99 (could be wrong).
Perhaps the more experienced posters can advise further on this.

I'm just a tenant so there's no lease except the one held by the landlord who I am not able to contact.

There should by law be a tenancy agreement. You should write to your landlord via the LA asking his/her views on the charge. He/she may be prepared to intervene with the managing agents.

You should also contact the other occupants of the block(s) to see if they have had problems. You really need to get your ducks aligned on this, UKPC are scammers, and have no right to a penny of your money.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

I see. Hypothetically, if anyone could tell me what a good amount to offer would be (i.e the lowest that they would accept) I'd be thankful - I get that it depends on the cases, but roughly speaking... Just so I know where I stand.

Their actual costs run to maybe £10 per invoice. £2.50 per DVLA lookup, and then a few quid in wages and stationery. They've paid nothing to any debt collectors despite adding additional charges - the debt collectors will take a percentage fee if you pay up, and are potentially owned by the same director anyway.

So I'd be offering them £60 with a brief breakdown of their actual, allowable costs.

    "Dear Parking Scum,

Since I'm aware that you've had some out-of-pocket expenses to the tune of under £10 per invoice, I'm prepared to offer you a settlement of £60.

    Your estimated costs are:
    DVLA fee: £2.50
    x automated letters @ £1 each.

    Costs that aren't valid are:
    Debt collectors fees (not incurred)
    Legal fees (not incurred)
Staffing & standard business costs (exist regardless of the alleged infraction)"

They'll reject it anyway; their only aim is to get money by intimidation, and will quite happily lose money taking you to court, so that you'll just pay up next time, and your friends might do the same.

Realistically, for an own-space offense, you'll beat them pretty easily, and they'll get to pay you for the privilege. Even if they win, they'll lose more than they actually get.

There is a tenancy agreement but unfortunately it doesn't talk about parking , I don't know why - it's not something I thought of until this happened.

The managing agents are useless and based on what others have told me, they don't get involved in any parking disputes - residents or not.

Then get them involved. Make it quite clear to them that, since UKPC is their agent, you will be calling them as a witness should this progress to a court claim. Ask them to tell you the name and contact details of the person who will act as witness and dates when they will be available. That may make them think again about washing their hands of something that is their problem.
