  • The weather was horrible in London today! Worked in my favour though because it meant I didn't leave my office at lunch which meant I couldn't spend. So that's 1 day down and 4 to go...

Just thought I'd pop in and have a read of your diary LMSTM and I've subscribed! Congratulations on your marriage, we're about the same age and definitely on the same page about being prepared to start a family so I look forward to keeping up with your debt busting :)
Let’s just pretend I have not been alternately drowning in debt or only eating toast to try and pay it off for the last 20 years 😭

Thank you :) It's great knowing I'm not alone and other people are in a similar position to me x

  • Oh hi pay day!! :j

So I made it to payday with £78 left in my account. Had to buy some cards this week and my gym membership came out.

I started my Christmas shopping yesterday! But I was naughty and put in on my cc. Too many sales started early and I didn't want to miss out on anything. It's hardly Black Friday is it?! More like black week. I will look at figures today and transfer the money on to my cc to cover it. Still got more presents to buy which I'm hoping to get this weekend.

Unfortunately we missed out on the house we wanted. Gutted. Our housing association are just so slow and usless at getting back to me. In two weeks they are releasing more homes so I really hope I'm in a position to reserve one by then if we can still afford one :(

Transferred £350 towards next years holiday so I've got £900 saved for that now. :j

So sorry that you missed out LMSTM. Everything crossed for you that your HA pull their finger out in time for the next phase release :)

  • Thanks Kirsty :)
I'm trying to stay positive for the next phase but my HA are so frustrating. They ignore all my emails :(
We have done 6 viewings so far and had an influx of texts to arrange viewings on Monday and Tuesday but nothing since then. It's annoying because we have to do the viewings ourselves and at the moment its restricting our evenings.

Moved £200 to our joint house savings which means we now have £1130. We need £500 to reserve a home so his will come from here.

Credit card direct debits go out next month then I will look to see what extra I ca afford to pay on top.

Got another quiet weekend planned with seeing family and more flat viewings.

  • £100 paid onto cc2 this morning bringing my debt down to a nice round figure of £6000 :j

I've done most of my Christmas shopping now with just a few bits left to get which the £100 I have saved should easily cover.

I'd like to try and pay more than £250 towards debt this month but it's difficult in December with Christmas social things going on. I have no idea what to wear to my work Christmas party and I don't want to spend a fortune.

Time to make a December budget!

  • £150 paid onto cc1 this morning :) my total debt is now below 6k! Woo!

Pretty short for the rest month so I think I'll have to finish my Christmas shopping just days before Christmas, after I get paid again. Most of it's done. It's just my brother I've got to buy for.

I think we have a buyer for our flat :)
