Must stop spending

  • It's Friday! :)

I've got £70 left in my account and it's one week until pay day... and New York! :j

I have been good with my money lately. Haven't paid off as much on my debt this month as I would have liked to but I can't boo hoo £150. I had set myself a mini goal of halving my original debt figure by October. I should be able to do that come pay day.

We have been gifted late wedding presents of spending money for our honeymoon so we now have more than we need. So whatever we don't take will put towards our 2017 holiday. Shame the dollar rate is so bad :(

We got a refund of £88 from our water company the other day. It was good timing because we needed a food shop and had ran out of money in our joint account. We spent £13 and transferred £75 to our joint savings account. My husband got paid today so I moved over the usual £200 which means we now have £1076 in our joint savings account!

  • Hey abba! Hope you're well. I need to catch up on here!
New York was amazing thank you! We did so much. Saw all the sites and ate lots of yummy food.
We walked loads. Loved our hotel and had some really good weather.
Feels so much more expensive there now with exchange rate but we ended up bringing $500 back with us :) so we are saving that for our holiday next year. X

  • Just made a payment of £150 onto cc1 which brings my total debt down to £6100. I'm a little bit behind where I wanted to be at this stage. I'm getting there and will keep trying.

I have £100 saved in a separate account for Christmas presents so far. I bought my husbands present last weekend so just need to get him a couple of stocking fillers and he's done.

Pay day next Friday and I have £200 left in my account. Will need to top up my oyster before then and we are going out for dinner on Sunday for a friends bitthday. Anything left by pay day will go towards Christmas presents.

We are actually in the process of trying to sell our flat. Luckily we have managed to make a bit of equity in our flat which means we can buy something bigger. We have been looking at new builds so we can use help to buy.

Not sure where this leaves me with paying off debt st the moment because I know I'm going to need lots of extra money for various fees.

It's all a bit confusing and stressful at the moment :(

  • so glad it's Friday. It's been a long week.

Not much planned apart from lunch on Sunday so will hopefully keep spending to a minimum.

We have a few people coming to view our flat this weekend so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

We really want this new build home we have seen but there is only one left and we can't put a reserve down until we have an offer on our flat. Problem is our flat is shared ownership so the sale process isn't so simple. We to give our housing provider 8 weeks to try and sell the property. After 8 weeks it's down to us and it goes to the open market at full ownership. Problem is our flat is only being advertised on one random website so we aren't getting much interest :(
If we don't get this house we will have to wait for the next phase and we could be priced out of the type of house we want as the home prices are set to increase with the next phase :(
I'm keeping everything crossed it works out.
The funniest thing is I have said my debts would be cleared on completion for the mortgage. The house won't be ready until May so we have decided to move in with my parents once our flat has sold. This means I should be able to pay a lot more towards my debts whilst living there. I just hope it all works out...

  • Monday again! Wow that weekend went quick. I didn't get up to much. popped to the shops on Saturday and got a couple of cheap tops for work with 20% off.
Yesterday we went out for a meal for a friends birthday which cost me £20.

After I top up my oyster this morning I will have £100 left in my bank account. I'm planning to not spend at all this week and keep it there til pay day. I want to be able to pay it onto cc1 to get my debt down to a nice round figure of £6000.

Hopefully pay another chunk off my debt next month but it's the last pay before Christmas and I've got a lot of presents to buy with only £100 saved.

    *must not spend this week*
