Easyjet cancellation followed by delay - can I claim anything?

Hi,
I was due to fly back from Hamburg to Manchester on Thursday 23rd July with Easyjet. This was cancelled I think due to French Air Traffic Control strikes.
Easyjet sent me a text and I was able to move to the Friday flight at 19:10. I tried to get a hotel booked with them too using their website but it kept counting down and then timing out while I waited in the queue. They eventually sent me an email at 20:30 local time to say they'd found me a hotel but as I'd been without accommodation all day I had no choice but to already book somewhere else.
When it came to the 19:10 flight on the Friday this was delayed departure until 23:25. The airport was closed for 30 minutes prior to the original departure time due to weather which I guess doesn't help my case here.
So I appreciate I've got little chance of getting compensated for my hotel booking as they did eventually book me one but it was too late for me to cancel the one I was already in and not worth it.
Do I have any cause for a claim for anything else? I guess the weather delay means probably not but by the time I landed in Manchester I had to get a taxi home as the last train home had already departed.
Is it worth doing anything or am I going to get fobbed off? Any advice most welcome

Copy and paste into Easyjet thread please. Starting your own thread clutters the board and makes it very difficult to use. Thank youIf you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
