Best provider

I recently moved to Cornwall and used MSE to find the best provider for my landline and internet provider. Basically, it looked like I had 3 options. Sky, BT or SSE. I checked that all were available in the area.
I registered for one of the vouchers with Sky as this was the cheapest option, by far. Sadly when I got through, I was told only broadband was available. I'm not sure if this is true because when I checked it said otherwise. I then spent some time dealing with a hard sell!
Next I tried SSE and contacted them via e-mail. I received an automated response stating that they would contact me within 48 hours - this was over a month ago. I tried again - couldn't get through via telephone (2 hour waiting time) so I contacted them via e-mail again to make them aware that they had not answered my enquiry - again received an automated e-mail telling me they would respond within 48 hours - again still waiting a response. If this is an example of their customer service it would put me off.
My question is what do other people in Cornwall do? Has anyone managed to use a provider other than BT? I require unlimited internet access and a landline - not necessarily a calls package, more to receive incoming calls. Thanks

Why not try ordering on line?
Add Plusnet to your list and probably TalkTalk too. Anything you get from BT should also be available through other ISPs should they choose to sell it. Many don't offer FTTP though so that is probably the reason you are having issues.0
