Cat Missing - Updated

This happened earlier this evening. My 14 month old Bengal cat got out of the house through the window where the tumble drier hose goes out. It used to be the outside toilet (attached to the house) and normally the door is left shut but was left open. In spite of intensive searching there is no sign of her.
We were alerted to it because she let out a terrible scream but by the time we got there she was gone.
We are worried for the following reasons. She is an indoor cat and is considered too skittish to be let out yet. She has never been outside before. She is timid and terrified of other cats. We think she encountered one outside and was chased/ran away. She is tiny for a Bengal. I am worried she ran away and is now lost and cannot find her way home. When she sees another cat when she is in the house she runs and hides under the bed. She has now been gone for over 3 hours.
I have rattled her biscuits, we have all been round the block, looked over fences etc. My only hope is that she will find her way home but I am so worried. My other Bengal ran into the road last August and was run over and killed so I am beginning to wonder if we will ever see her again.
Can a cat that has never been outside find its way home?

The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best

You must be so worried.
If you havent already put some of her used litter by the doors. So if shes near she will smell it.
Is she chipped?
Sending good thoughts and wishes that you find her safe and well0 -
Put a post on any local facebook groups, print flyers and put them through doors.
If you haven't already alert the microchip company that she is missing, contact all vet surgeries in the area, also depending on how your local council deals with cat deaths call each day, I know it isn't nice, but its a necessary evil.
Rescues often have cat traps you can borrow, as often locating them isn't hard but catching them is.
When puss is back maybe think about cat proofing your garden, we have done this so our cat can safely go in the garden without being able to get out, its nice being able to open windows properly without needing screens.0 -
Great advice already for you, tesuhoha.
I really hope she comes home safe and sound.
I remember you posting photos of your 2 Bengals ages ago, I didn't know you had lost one. That must have been heart-breaking for you.
Fingers crossed and sending hugs. :grouphug:0 -
Thank you. I will work my way through the advice although I do not know which is her litter as the other cat uses it. Maybe I should just put some outside anyway. I have already phoned the vet, but cannot get through to the microchip company as their phone is constantly engaged. I have registered her under Animal Search UK. I keep going outside but there is absolutely no sign of her. I will start calling round the animal rescues but I think it is early days yet for her to be found. At least it will alert them.
I am going to try to compose a leaflet but am quite upset about some other news I have heard this morning so its hard to concentrate. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
Can you have a walk around your neighbourhood calling to her?
Fingers still crossed.0 -
Sorry to hear about your lost cat, If you haven't done so already, put the details onto the Doglost website, they also list lost cats.
Hope she is back home very soon.0 -
We had a cat that ate with us called George when we moved into our current pad. On day one he legged it. BoPsie was worried sick!
Four days later, dishevelled, hungry, he came back!0 -
Can you post a photo here and an idea of where you are located, the town or village perhaps? Someone here may see something on their Facebook page about a found cat.0

It was too unbearable to report at the time and I felt to blame as I do this time. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0
